Gingrich Risks Conservative Outrage on Immigration‎

Did Newt Gingrich have a “heartless” moment on Tuesday night?

In a September debate, Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, drew a furious response from conservatives in his party when he said critics of in-state tuition for illegal immigrants “did not have a heart.” The response halted Mr. Perry’s momentum amid charges from rivals that he was too soft on the issue of immigration for the party faithful.

Now, Mr. Gingrich — the newest leader in the national polls — has embraced a similar apostasy: the idea that the country should find a way to make many millions of illegal immigrants legal.

No surprise, the other Newt Cultists rush to the defense of their Under priest.

So apparently the Newt camp has no problem with those sorts of scumbag political tactics.

Thank you from proving my point about how Newt has become a Cult of Personality to his followers here.

Cult of Personality tactic 3. Anything is permissible as long as it advances the cause of the cult leader

Non citizens are already legally voting. For now it's limited to local elections.

Newt will change that as well...and all states wil have to have photo identification to vote. There will still be the cheaters but this dows hamper their efforts considerably.

Rush was talking about this about a half hour ago and made a good point about Newt’s position. Nowhere does Newt say that he is giving amnesty to illegal immigrants. Rather, he is saying that they will be allowed to stay if certain conditions are met.

So how is his position different than amnesty?

Newt’s proposal does NOT grant citizenship, which means they cannot vote. That is a HUGE difference in my book.

Send all the illegals back to Mexico and present the Mexican government with a bill for services rendered. Let them deal with their own citizens.

They can give us all their oil profits until the debt is paid. I'd say that’ll take about 400 hundred years if no more illegals sneak in.

It's the fairest deal possible.

See ya Newt! Who is next?

Unfortunately, there is no "next", there is only Romney.

Its going to one day be something between mass deportation and blanket amnesty and Newt was addressing that

They all say that except Bachmann who wants all deported...a fine idea but highly unlikely

Its a mess no doubt

White conservatives need to get back to bangin and.baby making like wabbits again

Problems solved in 20 years or so

“Huh? So where was he wrong?”

“So how is his position different than amnesty?”

It’s amnesty.

Once they become legal residents they are eligible to apply for citizenship.

My God, I can’t believe it if it is true. I didn’t see the debate due to work, but is there a video clip of the Gingrich statement regarding illegal immigration? I don’t care if he coddles it under State’s Rights, if this is true – just as it sunk Perry – this is going to sink what was his very good chance of getting the nomination. I was down to my choice between him, Romney and Cain – but once I get clarification on the exact and full statement, and it turns out what Fox news and family/work associates are saying, then man, he’s not my choice.

That will pretty much, probably sets the deal for Romney winning the nomination (though I haven’t heard what Romney might have said to the same sort of question at the same debate since, like I said, I missed it sadly) … I can’t believe Newt has made such a huge blunder …

If this is true I am swapping Newt for Bachmann. So it will be Romney, Bachmann or Cain now for me. Though I didn’t hear the debate, I am pretty sure in guessing Bachmann no way supports or coddles or enables or encourages illegal immigration – and I won’t mince words, I am talking about illegals invading from Mexico (along with a strong drug and criminal element which also supports smuggling not only drugs but terrorists into this country) …

Johnnie, you are absolutely the LAST word on who is qualified to be a FReeper. Dead last.
Willie Green (whose "exurburance" for public transportation got him banned) might actually hold that title, however ...
... having seen Johnnie's screeds all over FR like a bad rash, I couldn't agree more.

Excellent supporting comments.

If I wanted to live in Mexico, I would have moved here. Some of the support that the leftists in this country give to the chaos of uncontrolled immigration caused by our open border is just the projection of self-loathing. If we do not gain control of our borders we are doomed.

I would suggest reading The Camp of the Saints by Jean Raspail. This is the fictional future of Europe that becomes beset by boatloads of third-world people that it cannot show the courage to prevent from entry let alone eject. Uncontrolled immigration is a form of cultural suicide.

Not that it’s any of your business, but I haven’t voted yet nor have I decided who that vote will go to. I’ll be sure to get your opinion before I do, though...that will be one less candidate from which to choose...and in case you are wondering, the instrument has yet to be invented that could measure how little I care about what you think or say. You have proven yourself many times to be a liar and plagiarizer. If it weren’t for low character, you’d have none.

Nope. Give amnesty to the ones that are here and others will come.

Negative. They are LEGALLY voting. We are not talking about illegals with or without ID. Non citizens ARE ALLOWED to vote in several areas in local elections.

If you are suggesting that Newt will put a stop to this, you are mistaken.

My my my seems the Cult of Newt don’t like having their posting tactics pointed out to them.

Remember that next time you feel the urge to post one of your fraudulent hit pieces about the other candidates.

"Legal residence" for illegals, but not citizenship? How about the millions of anchor babies these criminals spawn?

We are facing an invasion of our nation by Mexico and other "Latin" nations. Immigration trumps all the other issues we face today. Continued immigration, legal or otherwise, will destroy the American republic.

People who do not realize this are too stupid to recognize how a place like Texas came to be liberated from corrupt, dictatorial Mexico in the first place. It happened because Anglos settled there in large numbers. Demography is destiny. Occupation is conquest. Got it?
