Yep. A far cry from the Judeo-Christian ethic. The Founding Fathers revered "the Christian system" as the setting for a people able to handle personal liberty as the Constitution ensures.
Adherance to the system is like the oil in an engine. Western Judeo-Christian values, our moral/religious foundations (which we tend to think are automatically adopted by all, such as anti-slavery -- what a shock when we learn that non-JC cultures may have zero qualms with the morality of slavery), actually work, as time has proven. If free people desert the wise guidance of "the Christian system and submit to the demands of other systems, such as Islam, all the freedom in the world will be in vain because it will self-destruct, an engine running on bad oil.
