>> he said. I’m prepared to take the heat in saying: Let’s be humane in enforcing the law.”
Newt’s being a dick by implying the Conservative goal involves inhumane treatment of illegal aliens.
He’s not alone.
Cain, Perry, Gingrich, well.....everyone but Bachmann, really......have called for “reasonable” or “humane” ways to deal with the “11 million illegals already here.” Every one of them wants non-deportation without amnesty for some of the illegals already here.
At least he actually talked about who he’d deport. Bachmann, too. This has got to be the first campaign we’ve actually seen that.
He also sets up a straw man with the 25 years, etc., then acts nobler than thou in slapping it down. It was all an artifice intended to make the Republican mainstream look heartless.
Bush did the same thing with that "compassionate Conservatism" nonsense.
Exactly. How about he talk about how humane it is to put US citizens out of work like my cousin because all the construction companies are hiring illegals here in New york city? Even the CITY is hiring illegals to do road work. That’s all you see is when it comes to contruction and road work is Mexican Mexicans Mexicans all over the place. The working class is getting killed by illegals. The taxi biz has all been destroyed by them. When a guy was unemployed or needed some extra loot for Christmas he use to drive a cab or doing construction work. My father use to do it when he was a cop in the 1960s, moonlighting they called it. Not anymore. Illegals have all but cornered the market in those jobs and quite easily being that we have a lib Mayor who all but kisses their arses.
Newts being a dick by implying the Conservative goal involves inhumane treatment of illegal aliens.
No, he’s just being the lib that he always gets around to being.
“Newts being a dick by implying the Conservative goal involves inhumane treatment of illegal aliens.”
He’s reviving Jack Kemp’s tired routine of being “the good conservative” versus all the rest of us racist xenophobes.
The press laps that swill up. But somehow I don’t think it raised Newt’s favorables one iota among average Americans.
I make a point of not voting for politicians who refuse to enforce immigration laws because it might hurt the feelings of some foreign nationals who chose to ignore those laws years ago. That went for Dubya, it went for McCain, and it will go for Newt.
