I have always had a bit of concern over BB guns and pellet rifles.
First of all, I oppose any gun control laws of any kind, at least any I have seen and that includes BB guns, etc.
I will say I have also seen or read about some real tragedies involving kids and air guns. Quite a few serious and fatal injuries to truly innocent children.
No legal controls but lots of social pressure on parents to teach their children responsible gun handling and that includes guns of any kind.
You are correct. It is bad policy to restrict the rights of millions to prevent a small number of accidents. Social pressure, education and safety training are the proper tactics.
