Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.

Newt Gingrich won’t appear on Missouri ballot

The former House speaker, who is putting a campaign organization together on the fly, failed to qualify for the contest in the Show Me State.
According to the Missouri Secretary of State’s office, Gingrich did not file the necessary papers as of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline. That means his name will not be on the Feb. 7 ballot.
The filing requirements are not particularly onerous. A $1,000 check and some paperwork are all that’s needed.

Poor Herman Cain. Even when he got to answer his one and only question so far, CNN gave him a split screen with Ron Paul so we could all be distracted by seeing the old kook pulling faces the whole time Herman spoke.
I am getting sick of these debates if they aren’t fair..setting up “rules” the moderator uses or NOT whenever they pick favorites.
CNN promoted his 3 daughters before the show. This is entertaining tonight. CNN is trying to prop up Huntsman.
Wolf Blitzer sounds like he’s announcing fights on UFC championship nights.
With all the face time *untsman is getting tonight, look for his poll numbers to soar from invisible to negligible!

All of the Perry Haters are REALLY concerned that he’s sweating? On his lip? Are they all swishy makeup artists in real life?
Rick is writing checks he WILL have to cash, soon. The rest are just writing themselves mention in the history books.
The Presidency isn’t theoretical to Perry. He already lives it.
