I’m up for that as well. But there’s going to be an enormous outcry from the Mexican Government as well as all those who have to return. No matter how it’s approached it’s not going to be acceptable to those who have to go...and we’ll be hearing from them in due time.

The fact candidates are speaking out once again on this is going to create problems. One of which another mass run for our borders before anything takes place..and that on a international scale from the terrorists who want to harm us.

It’s a horrible mess no matter how it’s appraoched.

I know. And you have a right to be angry. The Republican Party has been overrun with liberals...we should all be angry.

“and Huntsman continues his pontification and condescending routine on every subject he came across.”

Yes, ad nauseum. He keeps bragging “I’ve lived overseas four times.”

To which I say - how about a 5th? Only longer this time, where he can use his “fluent Chinese” and the various other languages he speaks (the best of which is Double-Talk).

Have you ever managed people?

You know when you assign someone a project or a task to complete, and they come into your office and start giving you excuses about why they didn't get it done:

“Well it's not my fault the subcontractor didn't show up on time. And the product he brought was sub-par, so we had to re-order the supplies, and then we had 3 days of bad weather, and then the Inspector didn't pass the plumbing....”

And as the Boss or Manager, all you're thinking is, “I don't care who's fault it is and I don't care about any of these excuses, all I care about is whether the job got done or not.”

So you finally interrupt the guy and cut to the chase and say, “When can you get it done?”

Because the bottom line is, excuses don't matter. What can you get done, and when?

I think with Cain, what you see (that you and others perhaps don't like) is that he boils things down to their most simple elements. And he makes a decision based on that, and then he moves forward. As a CEO, he knows it doesn't ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING to stand around and talk about the problems ‘till we're blue in the face, giving excuses about why the project wasn't done on time. All that matters to Cain is “What are we going to do about it, and when?”

So when you say that “Santorum displays a depth of knowledge on the issues,” I really think what you're seeing is that Santorum (and others) can talk about these things all day long. They can talk and talk and talk. What good does it do to TALK? What does it solve to be a good talker? Cain wants to actually DO something, and he doesn't want to waste his time or ours in talking about it.

At least that's the way I see it.

And I think that's why Cain polls better with men than with women. Women like a lot of words, a lot of touchy-feely (women like Romney). Men like to cut to the chase and accomplish something. Men like to get ‘er done.

I’d put Newt and Cain up against an unscripted BHO before Romney, although he does have the looks of Central Casting for a president.

Oh I completely, and respectfully disagree. I think Romney looks absolutely common. He looks to me like the owner of a Used Car Lot. Or an Insurance Salesman.

I see it very differently, in that I think it is extremely important for the Republican candidates to amplify the message the American people have been sending since well before 2010. That the gravy train has jumped the track - for people who are looking for free rides, AND for politicians, (regardless of party), who want to pay for power, using our money to buy votes.

The upshot of that message should encourage freeriders here to leave, and give those who were considering coming something to think about.

IMHO “Constitutional” candidates who are advancing ideas about how securing our borders is too difficult, and about how to include individuals who break our laws, are not Constitutional at all.

We cannot right this ship with the business as usual, good cop/bad cop politics, where the “two parties” are simply different sides of the same coin : /

One thing we can agree on though, is that we are indeed in a horrible mess, and I fear for our nation. If we do not get it right this time, there may well be no next time.

May God guide our course.

This summer, I worked with a crew of 50 Hispanics, and they came from 10 different countries. The work was hard, it was hot, it was not glamorous, and at times it was frightening for some of the workers. They all worked their tails off, with good attitudes, no complaints, and for low wages. We worked 12-14 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless we got shut down for weather.

We couldn't get Americans to do the same work for the same wage. But every one of these people were grateful to have the work. And every one of them was able to save money to send something back home to their families. Most of them went to church together, and they played soccer together after work or on an off day.

I don't like “our money” going out of this country any more than anyone else does. But if Americans are going to be too lazy and too proud to get their hands dirty and do a hard day's work, then these people deserve the money, and they deserve to do with it whatever they want.

I have nothing bad to say about hard-working Hispanics who come here to better their lives. They weren't citizens, but they were either here legally, or their documents were good forgeries.

and Cain is likely to get the most votes from the 95% black voting group for Obama in 2008. That just may be the difference between winning & losing a close election.

And here's what people haven't thought about much: Cain isn't even courting the Black vote yet. Cain knows that the Republican nomination is about the White vote. He'll start courting the Black vote if he gets the nomination. He's not wasting his time on that segment of the population right now, but you can bet he will go after it HARD if he gets the nomination.

My “What’s your point?” came out far more harsh than I meant it to.

I merely meant, “What am I missing?”

Sorry about that.
