The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
What happens if the others fall out first? Who gets their support and who will they throw their support to? I look at this race going on at least 4 more months. After Iowa, some of these guys will fall out.
Newt will “take the heat” for not breaking up families of law-abiding illegals (an oxymoron). Barf.
For all of Romney's faults, he has been consistent on his lack of support for amnesty and perks for illegals, at least in the debates.
Romney, Mr. “I can’t have illegals working for me, I’m running for office” is outlaying his plan to be hard on immigration.
Here comes Perry’s response to what was obviously targeted at him.
CNN is deliberately trying to run out the clock on Newt in hopes that he won’t get a rise in the polls.

Perry talking about removing those magnets that bring ILLEGALs here is laughable.
Mitten’s Brylcreem seems to be wearing off.

What all of these politicians don’t get is you can’t be here 25 years and not be breaking the law.
Illegal immigration is not just about crossing the border illegally. In order to stay here, there are a plethora of laws that are broken every day.
How do illegals rent or buy houses, get jobs, etc? It is called identity theft. They are using stolen legal citizens’ identification. They are committing tax fraud, social security fraud, document fraud, and so on and so on and so on. The longer they are here, the more of these crimes they are committing and the more legal citizens are the victim of their crimes.
They act like it is a victimless crime and these poor people’s only crime is coming here for a job. If that was the case, they could have a point- but it isn’t. Who is going to restore and reimburse the legal citizens whose identity was stolen? When are those crimes answered?

Perry just stepped in it by using a Reagan line that made absolutely no sense.
If Newt did so did Perry.
Um hmmm... as opposed to a gov. who’s been in office for 11 years, has illegal numbers RISING, and gives them incentives to stay. Yeah, that’s worth a second look.
Perry is telling us to secure the borders, after being governor of an overrun border state for 12 or 20 years.
