WASHINGTON Baseball's new labor deal will limit the use of smokeless tobacco by players, but not ban it during games, as some public health groups had sought.
A baseball union summary obtained by The Associated Press says that players have agreed not to carry tobacco cans in their back pockets or use tobacco during pregame or postgame interviews and at team functions.

I’m not sure this is even much of an issue anymore. All the players I see on TV seem to be chewing gum or sunflower seeds.
Pussies.
Actually, in this case the commies (union) are resisting this change, while the capitalists(owners) are seeking it.
“Not only am I a p*ssy; I absolutely demand that everyone else on Planet Earth become a p*ssy, just like me. And if they don’t, I’m gonna stamp my widdle feet!”
They could be real men and swallow it instead.
Actually in MLB’s case, the union are the free marketeers while the owners want a socialist system.

It’s not socialism, that’s a way too simplistic view
What do you call the New York Yankees, a very succesful organization both on and off the field, having to pay millions to the Pittsburgh Pirates because the Yankees want to put a good product on the field for their fans, and the Pirates do not.
How so?
That’s what you do to try to have a competitive league when your player’s union won’t allow a salary cap.
All the MLBPA wants is for their members to be allowed to negotiate their terms of employment with any employer they want. The owners do not want this. The owners want to regulate the free market for labor in their industry. Once a player’s employment contract has expired, their should be no restriction on whom he wants to play for, for whatever reason.
Professional sports leagues, from the owners point, aren’t laundromats. If you own a laundromat, your better off when the competition closes. Except for the (sadly hypothetical) case of contraction, a sports league is healthier without it’s worst teams have to suffer in the dredges. It’s a bigger picture thing.
I rest my case. A salary cap is Socialism. If you have been paying attention, the Left wants to impose a salary cap on all of us.
It's not a free market. It's a league. And it depends on being competitive. Therefore, it is perfectly reasonable for them to set salary caps, as other sports do. It's no different than having rules for what kind of car a NASCAR driver can drive.
lol. Go ahead and rest. You sound like you need it.
What your saying is, is that the Pirates and the Royals are too big to fail.
