Gunmen in the Mexican border city of Acuña kidnapped and killed three police officers, authorities said Monday.
Acuña Public Safety Department said in a statement that the three were on patrol in the same unit when the assailants kidnapped them early Monday.
The officer's bodies were found an hour later in a residential area of Acuña, which is across the border from Del Rio, Texas. They had been shot and their hands were handcuffed, the police department said.
Authorities say the Zetas and the Sinaloa drug cartels are fighting each other to control smuggling routes in the state of Coahuila, where Acuña is located.

I was stationed at Laughlin AB in the 80’s. We used to go across the border every weekend and dine and dance. I was back there about 5 years ago and was warned not to cross the bridge. It won’t be long until you’re warned not to go to Del Rio. FWIW this is the area No Country For Old Men was supposed to have taken place.
What we need is a DMZ on the Mexican side of the border. The cartels control 75% of Mexico and the Mexican government is doing nothing. This means we need to take care of ourselves, regardless if it is across the border.
Seal the damn border. RIP.
Border Blaster!
It’s a mess, ain’t it, sheriff?
If it ain’t, it’ll do till the mess gets here.
Sounds like a good place for a bombing range. Give the Puerto Ricans back the bombing range we have on one of their remote locations. Heavy duty bombing will slow tunnel work.
Sort out legals from illegals and relocate them to at least equal value property. It will be cheaper in the long run.
The government has plenty of land hoarded and make sure it is not Agenda 21 manipulated. It could put a lot of construction people to work on a monthly rotating basis building new towns in West Texas. Start utilizing non-liquid assets. First they start by bringing in clean water with filtration systems or via pipeline.
The cemeteries is a touchy problem.
Also mentioned in the ZZ Top song “Mexican Blackbird.”
I don’t think we have anything to worry about anymore, the Mexican Trucks are now rolling across the Border freely. It should take less than a year for the new trade routes to be established. Until we can secure these much needed routes to distribute our controlled substances, the violence in the border regions will continue, once secured the violence will subside. And no we cannot ever close the border. WE NEED THE WAR ON DRUGS more than anything. And we cannot have a WAR ON DRUGS without DRUGS. Got it? Now quit whining about about our partners in the Drug Trade, they need us as much as we need them.
TLJ had a lot of good lines in that movie.
Why would three Mexican cops let themselves be kidnapped?
They know they’re going to be murdered, and likely tortured beforehand.
Sounds like motivation enough to try to fight it out.
In case this is one for you.
One of the most powerful AM radio stations in the world was located in Acuna. I think it was 100,000 watts...
