CONCORD, N.H. Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain has decided after all to sit for a videotaped interview with New Hampshires largest newspaper.
Joe McQuaid, publisher of the New Hampshire Union Leader, says Cains spokesman called Monday morning and asked if Cain could come in next week for an hourlong, videotaped interview.
The about-face comes four days after a planned interview was scrapped about an hour before it was supposed to begin amid disagreements over timing and whether it would be videotaped.

- How do Cainiacs think Herman will fare under such scrutiny (especially after the last sit down with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)?
- Do Cain supporters get a queasy feeling thinking about this proposition. Are they a little nervous - hoping that he makes it through without another implosion?
- How about tonight's debate? It will highlight foreign policy. Will Cain get a question requiring a serious answer? How will he handle it? Will Cainiacs be watching in nervous anticipation while maintaining a sweaty palmed death grip on the remote?
Well if Cain wanted to call attention to himself..he’s more than succeeded..
another foreign policy debate tonight?
Who freaking CARES!
we have had exactly ONE debate that discussed social issues and Romney didn’t even come to it!
This whole debate thing is a freaking setup!
Another debate ?
I'm confident Cain will learn from his mistakes. He'll make sure he's more prepped and better rested. He'll be fine.

If he does, he does. Kudos to him for taking the risk.. a whole lot more than we'll see from the "media's" perennial "front-runner" Romney.

If Cain has given adequate time to review subject matter of the readaheads the Heritage Foundation forwarded to each candidate, he'll do a good job.
How will he handle it?
If he's properly prepped, he'll do fine.
Will Cainiacs be watching in nervous anticipation while maintaining a sweaty palmed death grip on the remote?
Probably no more than the Perriwinkles will, anytime their candidate attempts a stammering enumeration of more than two items in a list.
My question to you is
Why is this interview so stinking important?
I think it was Rove last nite that basically declared Cain dead cause he canceled the gig. That’s BS!
Personally, I don’t expect my candidate to have all the answers on the tip of his/her tongue and I don’t expect flawless performances. In fact, I’m deeply suspicious of glib, sanctimonious, poll tested, and canned interviews.
Granted, the LSM will jump every conservative mis-step but so what’s new about that? How about just for a change we pick someone with real values and the willingness to stand their ground. The names Cain, Palin, Bachmann, Ryan, and Thompson come to mind. Why are we so willing to crucify the average joes(jolines) and tolerant of the career political frauds?
thats about the 234234234th time rove has delared cain dead
Makes you wonder how strongly he beleives the business marketing stratedgy that “any attention is good attention”??
His campaign has certainly been successful at THAT.
Since he didn’t show up for the previous interview, is this one free?
Very good answers. Excellent! I am looking to Cain to show me the kind of CEO he is. How does he solve problems. He came through with flying colors on the sex harassment nonsense. They all said he fumbled. I think he assessed the situation and solved the problem magnificently.
He put the right person in charge and the matter went away overnight. When he hired Lin Wood the defamation attorney that very same day all the accusers disappeared instantly. That speaks to Cain’s managerial skills.
He is not supposed to know everything. He is supposed to demonstrate the skills to find the right people. Under the fire of the sex harassment issue he trounced them.
Let’s see how he manages the rest.
See: “It’s over! Cain won again!”

I watched the entire interview, Cain did very well and showed he was knowledgeable on many subjects. The edited portion was a very short pause in an overwhelmingly positive interview.
But I'm sure you knew that.
As far as the interview on Libya is concerned, at the end he gave the RIGHT ANSWER, the ONLY ANSWER as far as I'm concerned.
He said he would have handled everything differently than Obama and finished with the truth.
He said, THE PROBLEM IS WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WE SUPPORTED.
None of the self appointed hot-shots got that, including "our" (meaning Fox) newspeople, all of "their" newspeople, Hillary Clinton, Obama, every disgusting Dem and some of our experts like Bolton (who used to be one of my favorites).
Why were these Titans calling the attacks (and also all the other attacks on formerly friendly M.E. states) "the Arab Spring" when we absolutely DID know that at least some of those wonderful "freedom seeking" revolutionaries were Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda itself!!!
Even if it was a good idea for Qadaffi to go, was it a good idea to replace him (and the others) with something totally evil and destructive and much, much worse than the "problem"? Couldn't it have waited at least until we knew if we were helping or hurting? Promoting our deadliest enemies?
Herman Cain was the only one I heard say what has now become an obvious truth, "We don't know who we're supporting". Even operating with only four hours sleep and even with his obvious hesitation, he still gave the only right answer.
Thank you for your thoughtful answers. Please see my #14. Everyone ignores that, although exhausted and hesitant, Cain gave a rational and truthful and accurate answer.
It’s not by accident that most (all?) of the showings of Cain’s hesitant response stop BEFORE HE GIVES HIS ANSWER!
An answer none of the “experts” gave before or after including Britt Hume, John Bolton, Hillary etc.
That's actually three.
A recent performance that would belie the narrative -- go back to his interview with Larry O'Donnell... watch how he handled the little pipsqueak marxist during an excessively hostile interview. He was admittedly caught in a bad moment in that interview in Milwaukee. What I said was I have confidence he'll be better prepared in the future. As for "rumors" that his staff can't get him to study up... Rumors aren't worth the time of response unless something concrete backs them up. Whether it's "changed" or not depends upon the veracity of the rumor in the first place.
I think Cain will do just fine. Call it gut, whatever.
What reason do you have to suggest that he’s going to do poorly?
I answered your question.
