While crowds cheered Obama during his inauguration, the reception wasn't as warm for outgoing President Bush some booed him while others lined up to throw shoes at his effigy.
Many in the crowd began booing and shouting obscenities when President Bush and Vice President Cheney were introduced during the inauguration ceremony, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Kevin McDermott wrote.

So any of this crap about NASCAR fans being mean to Hussein's wife needs to be remembered in the light of the media's utter incompetence to hold Hussein accountable.
I also remember the trash and litter his worshiping fans left behind. Appropriate.
I don’t remember the media being all that “tsk tsk” about booing Bush either. I seem to recall it was “America’s dissatisfaction with the old regime on display.”
Liberals condemn themselves by their action then and now!
That was “different”.
I see a lot of this logic used by the idiots on the Left.
M.O.....oh, boo-hoo, Mrs. Beard. Fire your “director of event planning”, or whatever you call the bird brain that set you up for this “get the idiot, religious, clingers vote” event.
Didn’t work very well, huh?
I’m actually enjoying seeing the dopes (like pissy-Chrissy) fall out of love. Why, GOSH! The Obama’s AREN’T the smartest people in the world!
Oh...and M.O....just a fat fraud. Those itty bitty sweaters she wore backwards? Yep! Now you realize! Jackie K still has that “fashion icon” thingy. Moo, just a crass POS. Oh....mean, I know. I would have boo’d the cow, too. Bavo to those in the crowd that did.
I am not for booing any President or First Lady. In public.
Being nice doesn’t get us anywhere...the time for that has long passed.
I am not for booing any American President or First Lady. In public.
When the president goes abroad and trashes the United States and its citizens, he deserves to be booed wherever he goes. As far as his wife, if she wasn't out and about criticizing what Americans eat, do or don't do, and lectures us on how to act, we'll boo her too. If they would conduct themselves with even an ounce of class, maybe I would consider your position as being legit. But they don't.
Anyone remember this?

Remember the picture of BO, Outgoing Pres Bush and Outgoing VP Cheney?
VP has his ‘go to hell’ hat on and he is staring daggers at BO from under the brim.
Speaking of ‘Outgoing Pres’ do you suppose BO will establish an “Office of the President Kicked Out” to follow up on his “Office of the President Elect”.
“WE” knew at the time this was going to be a helluva bumpy ride but when pointing out this new ‘office’ we were accused of being petty and (AGAIN) racist.
Of course sigh when ‘his’ or ‘her’ name comes up and one is considered racist...don’t even think of rolling your eyes..
Not saying booing is not well-deserved in some cases.
But I prefer public respect for the Office of the Presidency.
There are plenty of other ways to voice displeasure/disagreement with an administration.
But, I hear ya.
In a free society, they would be incompetent.
In an aristocratic totalitarian dictatorship, they are just doing their job.
As much as I dislike these people, it’s not OK to descend to such rude, boorish behavior.
In my view, showing respect to the Office of the President in public has nothing to do with “being nice.” And I think it does “get us somewhere.”
As I’ve said, there are plenty of other ways to voice disagreement/disapproval of the occupants of that office.
I agree. It will never turn out any way but badly.
We have all the freedom in the world to disagree, disapprove, protest and so on, without doing this. And it happens on both sides of the aisle.
Bush may have been booed in D.C. but he received lots of cheers in Midland that day when he returned home to Texas. I know - I was there.
What was witnessed was reality. The media could not control what the public heard. Many of us boo them everyday, however it is not reported.
The U.S. President is both Head of State, and Head of Government. If only there were some way to be respectful of the HoS, while simultaneously dissing the HoG. It's not easy, when a single person plays both roles. Then there's the FLOTUS — evidence that the U.S. really misses having a royal family. Otherwise, why all the fuss, over a politicians wife?
I respect the office of the president, but when the man holding the office disrespects it, all bets are off.
