In my view, showing respect to the Office of the President in public has nothing to do with “being nice.” And I think it does “get us somewhere.”
As I’ve said, there are plenty of other ways to voice disagreement/disapproval of the occupants of that office.
I respect the office of the president, but when the man holding the office disrespects it, all bets are off.
Respect has to be earned. It is not given just because you have hoodwinked and lied into a position of privilege.
Perhaps folks were booing the contempt this First Lady shows her public. Booing her extravagant vacations, ransacking the public purse, having no pride in being an American, and reminding everyone how much better they are than the rest of us.
The Obamas hate the premises of the White House, because to them it is the seat or center of colonialism. Their objective is to rake it in from the taxpayer for all those years of perceived subjugation.
In other words, they are enjoying the ultimate rewards of entitlement.
Oh, horse manure.
Why should anyone show "respect to the Office of the President" when the holder of that office shows no respect for either the office or for the nation? Screw that turd. Once Ubama is flushed down the toilet next November, maybe the office can once again be deserving of respect.
