When they demolish homes, they send in a bulldozer, or a backhoe, to smash it, and dumpstruck to cart it off to a landfill.

Why not recycle? Homes are mostly wood..and seasoned wood is always of value, every for firewood. There's metal..piping, and other stuff..so why not hire some of the unemployed..not that expensive..minimum wage or a little higher..not that expensive...put them is small crews..to tear down these homes, sort out all the salvagable stuff..I bet much of it could be sold overseas...

they need to be trained to the OSHA standards...

lead paint, asbestos, hazardous waste, black mold...

suddenly they ain’t such cheap labor.

There is a solution to their problem. Well sort of. The county can sell off the property for back taxes. Than the new owners could tear down the house. The problem: The EPA and other regulations have made tear down soooo expensive it’s not worth it.
