Cain will sit for an hourlong taped interview with the Union Leader, publisher Joe McQuaid announced on Twitter on Monday...
Just last week, Cain backed out of a Union Leader interview because the paper insisted on a 60-minute, on-camera sit-down, as opposed to the 20-minute, camera-free conversation Cain hoped for. The newspaper blistered Cain in a Monday missive titled, Recording Cain: Whats he afraid of?
McQuaid told POLITICOs Reid Epstein that Cains spokesman called me up this morning and wondered if they could come in one day next week for an hour-long interview and have C-SPAN there.

No wonder you are in love with Newtie, who slept in the same bed as his mother, and who was having sex with his teacher. Ask Marianne Gingrich what a piece of $hit, butt ugly horn dog he is. Ask Marianne what he did to her while he was screwing all the Congressional young female workers he could con. Ask her what he demanded she do when he was screwing Calista while still married to her. He is a man without scruples or values, and is playing numbnutz like you like a fiddle.
Anyone who slaps the criminal media and democrats around will get the attention of the conservative base, but we are not stupid, we will not dismiss every icky, nonconservative thing he has done just because we like to see him bitch slap the enemy.
LOL @ you.
Free Republic is no longer an adult, conservative site we all knew and loved. Does Jim Robinson know that Cain articles are being pulled or buried? Why are outright rude and mean spirited replies permitted now? The liberal mob mentality e taking o0ver.
The problem is, that he has all these things whirling around in his head. Makes it difficult focus.
Sound familiar?
The "Union" in "Union-Leader" refers to the union between the states, not the labor type. It's the leading conservative paper in New Hampshire and probably New England. By the way, I still back Cain, but he's wearing thin.
Why am I always the last to know? And I was rooting for Cain too.

Great minds always see the obvious. Go Herman...
That’s why we have a pinglist, so at least we can find the articles. :)
You should join. :p
No. Please expand.
From now on, Politico will now be called “Polutico”.
I hope the agreement allows the Cain campaign to tape the interview themselves to allow us to see if the paper tries any fast editing to create a gaffe.
Cain is smart. They wanted him to sit for a taped interview where presumably they could cut and edit however they wanted. Cain said, let’s have c-span in there too . That way we can keep the editing tricks out.
Cain’s plan still has income tax, it’s just lower. And there are fewer deductions, so the IRS needs to re-write all their regulations, and re-train the workers, and re-issue all their guidance, and re-do the forms.
And there would still be audits, because people would still cheat on their income taxes. MAybe it would be harder. But there would also be audits of the sales tax portion.
Maybe you are confusing 9-9-9 with the VAT tax. They are a lot alike, but 9-9-9 still has income tax.
Little is known about Cain and the same thing seems to be playing out.
Cain doesn't have the same oratory skills or MSM support BO had...but he has few negatives because all that is known about him is what he has put out.
This is a good decision by Herman Cain. He needs to get used to MSM’s future attacks which will come for sure. When other candidates appear and Cain refuses, it shows him a bad light. Cain is a fast learner, He should have no problem with this interview, taped or not.
I hope his handlers make sure he has had time to get a decent amount of sleep before. Cain is flying around the country and that has to be exhausting. Just the other day he was in NH, Iowa and FL in a span of just 3 days. I know I could not handle that schedule without jet lag and exhaustion. And I play 4 rounds of golf every week and walk the 18 holes.
Correction...currently my tax return averages 10-12 pages.
With 9-9-9, my tax return will be half page. IRS will save time and money checking my dividends and capital gains/losses because all those become not taxable under Cain’s tax proposal. There will be my gross income, my personal deduction and charity deduction, and that’s it! What is there for IRS to audit? They already get a copy of my W-2. How difficult will be for them to check just 1 item...my charitable contribution deduction?
So no tax lawyers, no turbo tax software, no chance of audits, I love it! Even if you own a business, your tax return will be much simpler because very few deduction are available, so complications are gone. They can deduct any material bought from US corporations in the same year...no need to amortize year after year. And the tax rate drops from 35% to 9%.
Further to #48, the Union Leader is the most influential source of news for Republicans in New Hampshire, where Cain will be running in one of the early primaries. Whoever advised him not to sit for that interview before should be out of his campaign.
