This is the same once conservative Union Leader that endorsed McCain in the GOP primary in 2008.
Would you rather they had endorsed Mittens instead? It is quite possible the McCain Union Leader endorsement prevented the guy from the neighboring state from winning the primary, which really would have boosted his chances for the nomination. None of the other GOP candidates came within 20 points of McCain and Romney in the New Hampshire primary (Huckabee, Giuliani, and Ron Paul were the only other candidates to even get more than 2% of the vote).
