Newt Gingrich Will Fight The Media That Has Him In Its Sights
Investors ^ | Nov. 18, 2011 | DOUGLAS MACKINNON

What Mr. Gingrich understands better than any is that now it is his turn to be the GOP duck in the mainstream media shooting gallery. If anything, the compromised and unethical members of the Fourth Estate will go after him harder than they did Bachmann, Perry or Cain.

Why? Because he has dared to call them out for their liberal bias and simplistic and inane questions during the debates.

Not only is Gingrich right to take on the mainstream media but many conservatives are taking note of the tactic and are rallying to his cause. As well they should.

All I know is that this election will be an interesting year! BUT, putting on my swami turban I believe events will overtake the election—dramatic things are set to happen this December. mark my words—the 10 and 15th will see something on the world stage that will drive the GOP candidates off the front pages. Maybe I have my turban on too tight.

I like Newt , he is razor sharp , will cut any of these jerks to pieces. I absolutely LOVE that

I agree. He really smacked that twit smug moderator at the last debate. The twit's value to the liberal media went down drastically. They don't take kindly to that so we can expect a major dump on him and their favorite, Mitt, will remain untouched.

Dude, you really need to lighten up. What do you really think will happen if the Republican president doesn’t reach out to the Dem.’s? It’s highly unlikely that we will have a filibuster proof majority. We’ll need to bring some of the Dem.’s over to our side to get anything done. It would be a PR nightmare to try & jam things down their throats like the Dem.’s did to us.

As well, do you think maybe, just maybe, Newt needs to attract the attention of the indy’s to get their support in the general. Do you think he’ll get their vote by basically saying damn the Dem.’s? C’mon dude.

It sounds like you were a big fan of Reagan. Did Reagan reach out to the Dem.’s? Of course he did. It’s part of our process. Or at least it’s supposed to be. “Reach out” doesn’t mean capitulate. It can mean what Reagan did. Maybe that’s what Newt has in mind.

Do you KNOW otherwise?

Odd when you were racing around this website trash talking any candidate NOT Newt, never hear any worry about “Free Republic enablers”.

Sorry but it is utterly hypocritical to demand the right to “vet” every other candidate but turn around and demand your candidate of choice be exempt from the same scrutiny.

Direct your fire at the other side.

Newt is the "other side," as is Romney, Perry, and the rest of the crooked, decrepit GOP-E.

The Mediots won’t do a thing to harm ol’ Nootie in the primaries.

They’d love to have him in their crosshairs for the General election where he’d be easy to beat.

The Mediots will fight Cain to the bloody end though.

The only thing deceitful is Newt’s flip flopping and his insistence that somehow all his positions in the past have been changed in time for this election cycle. He only masquerades as a conservative when the wind is blowing in that direction.

Which side are you on?

Newt is still on Jimmy Carter’s side, where he always has been.

Since you're posting all those links, readers might as well get to see Gingrich's response to them: Setting the Record Straight: Newt's Positions on the Issues and His Record

He covers a mandate, Scozzafava, "right-wing social engineering" and other many other lines of attack or criticism in the above link.

>> “the LSM is going pretty easy on him so far.” <<

.
And they will continue to do so!

They want him as our candidate so bad they can taste it.

Flip-flopping Newt, as usual. He can't run away from that RINO record, as well as his cavorting with Pelosi on that couch.

Does anyone want to answer the question as to why they think Gingrich’s work for Freddie Mac can be brushed off as saying nothing about his political instincts?

Are you privy to the advice he gave them? How do you know he wasn't advising them to stop giving loans to people who couldn't afford them?

Good point and perspective. If anyone can dazzle the ‘rats or indy’s- it would be Newt.

No, I’m not. Are you?

But I respect the fact that you have made a plausible argument.

That said, I don’t see what conservative in their right mind would take on this consultancy job, unless he could publicly demonstrate that he tried relentlessly to shape the organization’s leadership to conservative principles?

Moreover, why in Hell’s Bells would Freddie Mac hire Gingrich as a consultant in the first place? We all know very well, as did he, that the Freddie/Fannie executives and their cronies in Congress were not in any way, shape or form open to CONSERVATIVE approaches.

Still a little stinky, if you ask me.

Newt is still on Jimmy Carter’s side, where he always has been.

He may be the only thing between us and another four years for Obama. Are you prepared to risk that?

As I have argued, Newt may be seen by the Dems in the smoky back room as the only candidate who would never peel off any Democrat voters.
