Does anyone want to answer the question as to why they think Gingrich’s work for Freddie Mac can be brushed off as saying nothing about his political instincts?

Are you privy to the advice he gave them? How do you know he wasn't advising them to stop giving loans to people who couldn't afford them?

But I respect the fact that you have made a plausible argument.

That said, I don’t see what conservative in their right mind would take on this consultancy job, unless he could publicly demonstrate that he tried relentlessly to shape the organization’s leadership to conservative principles?

Moreover, why in Hell’s Bells would Freddie Mac hire Gingrich as a consultant in the first place? We all know very well, as did he, that the Freddie/Fannie executives and their cronies in Congress were not in any way, shape or form open to CONSERVATIVE approaches.

Still a little stinky, if you ask me.
