Absolutely true!
Our enemy = Journ-O-lists.
Thanks for thread AB. Just got home. Looks like the Tide is back in the BCS title hunt. Wo-wa Eagle!
Sorry about your Ducks Bray. No one wants the Trojans to win...ever.
Good analysis right on. I’m here because of the fishing but alas I never go anymore.
No solution from the Stupid Committee is a great thing. Now the election can be about real issues and decisions. Does America want bigger or smaller gummit. Time for real leaders and decisions.
Pray for America
True, and I am pro drilling for sure, but its not the only thing we need to get moving on.We need to revitalize capitalism and stop these incremental moves towards socialism.A huge job.
Don’t forget how Bambi is using more and more executive orders and down right ultra vires action by the regulatory administrators to go around Congress and punish all elements of our lives and economy. Only remedy there is impeachment, but unless there is 2/3 in Senate with guts, he gets to stay.
I am just hoping the Canadian pipeline option is still alive by then although I doubt it.We may still have time to revive Alaska. Truth is of we had been drilling in shallower waters in the gulf a spill or accident would be much easier to clean up.
Most people don't realize it but 50 miles offshore of S.W. Fla. is only 50 feet of water.
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Mark Zandi
Can’t FOX NEWS SUNDAY find a non-Democrat economist? How’s that Democrat fiscal stimulus/recovery package working now?
October 22, 2009, Transcript of Pelosi, House Democratic Leaders, and Economists Press Conference Following Economic Forum
by Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Leaders, Committee Chairs and six economic experts held a press conference this afternoon in the Capitol following an economic forum. Below is a transcript:
Mark Zandi. “Thank you, Madam Speaker. I want to thank you for the opportunity, and all the House leaders, for the opportunity to be here today. I thought it was a very fruitful meeting, and I made three points in the meeting. First, I think the fiscal stimulus, the recovery package, is working. I dont think it is any accident that the recession has come to an end just about the same time that the stimulus is providing its maximum economic benefit. I think it has been very successful, most importantly the benefits to unemployed workers, as well as to help state government. I think that has been key, along with the other aspects of the stimulus.
The second point is that the recovery is still very fragile and still very tentative. I think the risks to the recovery are quite significant and the possibility of the economy slipping back into a recession next year are uncomfortably high for a number of reasons most important of which is what is going on the job market, the fact that businesses while they are curtailing their layoffs, they have not begun to hire more aggressively. I think that is a function of a number of things, a lack of confidence, a lack of credit, and therefore I think, this gets to point number three, which is that it is very important for policy makers to remain aggressive and continue to do more, and I listed a number of things which I think would be very helpful.
Most obviously, I think extended unemployment insurance benefits should be extended through the end of 2010. Right now under the current stimulus they expire at the end of 2009, and they need to be extended. I think the first-time homebuyer tax credit should be extended into mid-next year to help support the housing market which is still incredibly fragile. I think accelerated depreciation of net operating loss carryback, which also expires at the end of this year should be extended into the 2010 and the conforming loan limits that are temporarily higher through the end of 2009 should be extended through the end of 2010. So a number of things should be extended through 2010 to make sure that the economy, the recovery is going to evolve into a self sustaining economic expansion.
And let me say this: I think our focus on the fiscal situation and deficit is very important in the long run, but I think it is also very appropriate to run a larger near term budget deficit to make sure that this economy gets out of this situation and gets on a self sustaining economic track. Thank you.”
No one else.
Take this crazy super committee that Republicans agreed to enter into. It's a disaster!
The regime has slickly set this thing up so that if it fails they look good and if it passes they get the cuts they look good.
If it fails zero blames us and gets to kill the Defense dept. allowing both Russia and China to eat our lunch as they are building up militarily almost geometrically while we are closing down shop. And, we eventually become a third world power instead of "the" power in the world which also plays into the hands of the Socialists.
If the super committee happens to find the cuts it will almost certainly mean that we gave into the commiecrats in more ways than one. Most likely by increasing taxes. That makes zero look strong us look weak. We lose they win no matter how the darn thing turns out.
IF we had half a brain Boehner would have told Bari, hey As_hole, it's been 900 days! Go back to the White House and don't come out until you have a budget! You idiot! But,he didn't.
.
Thanks potlatch
‘Thou shalt not hotlink to a leftie blog or else’
.
I think zero is toast.
He's just waaaay too far left in a center right country that has had a taste of Socialism, does not like it and doesn't want any more of it.
Regardless of who we run he will beat ozero or who ever this clown really is.
Yeah, that site even had a little blurb about one of my comments here! Hotlinkers work fast, lol.
“and it won’t make a damn bit of difference which Pubbie is in the White House if conservatives lead congress.”
Glad you said Pubbie, not just anyone of either party (BHO), because it DOES make a difference. Executive orders, going around Congress, making Supreme (and Federal) Court appointments (who would probably still be approved).
Congress and the Senate are supremely important, but the occupier of the WH is equally important.
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the “greatest liquor store in the world” and that isn’t a brag. I spend way too much money on beer, but that’s another story. At least it’s my money. Never have seen anyone over at the kitchen. Sure didn’t realize that it was (is) a one day operation. This whole thing smelled to me from the very beginning. Don’t know why, but it did. The first time we drove by the site, even before it was completed, my better half looked over at me and said, ‘why are they building that here in the middle of nowhere?’ I, of course, had no answer. All I had was a thirty year cop’s gut feeling that something just wasn’t “kosher”.
Isn’t John boy one of the ones in that new book that shows al of the insider trading that has gone on to make congress critters rich?
I am watching the Jags play the Browns ( am originally from Cleve so I LOVE my Brownies!).
So here the Browns punt the ball and it flies dowards the end zone, actually in the end zone edge. The Jags can’t get it together even though originally they catch the ball, and then they fumble around with it and of course lose what would have been a touchdown for them.
THAT is what the republicans remind me of...They keep getting the Touchdown score handed to them and then fumble around and let the Dems run another play!
I don’t understand how we are also losing the “framing the issues’ debate. I know the MSM is the commercials stations for the Rats..but come on! Get our conservative message out so the average TV-watching doofus can get it.
