NRA endorsement up for grabs in Montana's Senate race

The endorsement of a powerful gun-rights group is up for grabs in a key Senate race. The National Rifle Association’s (NRA) decision on whether to endorse Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) or Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg (Mont.) could be the deciding factor in what is expected to be a close contest. Political analysts say that the winner of this election could determine which party will control the Senate in January of 2013.

Oh come on NRA, a Democrat majority is anti-NRA regardless of Tester's views

Dingy Harry got endorsed by the NRA. He’ll let Tester vote for the RTC bill. Every vote counts back home.

NRSC needs to teach people who just don’t give enough time to learn all the facts of politics.
When people vote against Obama they need to vote against Democrats straight down the line. Otherwise, sorry to describe them as such, they are idiots. That has been my opinion since October 1980.

If the GOP candidate is a RINO, that’s a lesser of two evils vote.

Not all Republicans are created equal or are certifiably conservative.

It will all come down to who gives them the most money. Just like civil court actions. All these elites care about is who brings the biggest pot of lard to grease the skids.

Maybe if the National Rifle Association would change its name to the American Rifle Association they would be less of Special Interest Group. Harry Reid, UGGGGGH.

Exactly so. Single issue groups rarely see past the ends of their noses and the NRA is no exception.

The NRA did not endorse Harry Reid.

The NRA is a watered down gun rights group. I will not support nor belong to the NRA...they lack consistency. We will eventually loose all of our gun rights if we have to depend on this PC group.

They endorsed Dingy Harry last election and backed off the last minute because NRA members sent them massive emails telephone calls, etc saying they were canceling their subscriptions and stopping all donations if they continued to endorse him. Haven't they learned their lesson by now?

I am a member but refuse to send a single penny to them when I get their spam mail asking for money. Charlton Heston would never allow the NRA to deteriorate into what it is today.

I fell out with the NRA a few years ago. Thank God for the GOA (Gun Owners of America). That’s my organization. They’ve already endorsed Rehberg.

The NRA enabled Reid to continue functioning as the azwipe that he is. Their opinion means jack to me.

What is really important, is how these 2 guys will vote on the next Supreme Court Justice nominee.

We still have individual gun rights............... but ONLY!!! by the barest of a 5-4 margin.

It all comes down to whether or not either one of these guys will vote for the obama nomination for the next judge.

The “fact” that the NRA was for the RTC bill, tells me all I need to know about the NRA.

Every gun rights organization with any brains, and common sense was “against” the RTC bill.

Then there is the idiocy of grading. Where a democrat can receive a positive NRA endorsement.

The NRA is about as “establishment” as it gets in the gun rights fight. GOA, JPFO, and NAGR, usually see things differently.

Frankly folks I’m waiting for MGFE, BSFE, TITY, LMMAFA, KGAFMA, EAF, WEHTF, POTTELB.

Charlton Heston would never allow the NRA to deteriorate into what it is today.

Considering that Mr Heston was a spokesman for the 1968 gun laws in his younger days, gives one pause.

I left the NRA along with Neal Knox. The light was on over fifty years ago, and the NRA has been moving in the wrong direction ever since.

NRA endorsement policy is penny wise and pound foolish.

Tester does what all Democrat politicians in Montana do. He will run as a conservative, then vote the way the Democrats tell him to vote. All this behind the cover of Lee Enterprises. He’s already assured of getting all 5,000 votes from the 1,000 registered Chinese voters on each reservation.

Why should the Democrats vote straight line if we aren’t. I am not voting for the Presidential if they put up Romney, Perry, Newt, Paul. The Democrats should not be held to standards that we are not practicing.

.they lack consistency.

NRA is a non partisan group. Sometime the Democrats are strong on gun rights than the Republican. There are states like Pennsylvania that is pro-second amendment.
