Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, an Alameda County judge since 2008, was confirmed by the Senate on Tuesday for the U.S. District Court in Oakland, where she will become the first Latina federal judge in the Bay Area.
The Senate voted 89-6 to approve President Obama's nomination of Gonzalez Rogers to fill the vacancy created by U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker's retirement in February. There was no debate, and the opponents, all Republicans, did not say why they voted against the nominee, who had not drawn any opposition in her committee hearing.
Gonzalez Rogers, 46, a Texas native and Princeton honors graduate, spent 12 years as a real estate and business lawyer in San Francisco before Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her to the Superior Court in Oakland in 2008. She hears civil cases and has been presiding over a family law calendar.
She has been active in La Raza Lawyers Association and other Latino groups.

The Department of Energy’s clean energy loan program also triggered a recusal promise from Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, a state court judge nominated by Obama for the federal bench in Northern California. Her husband, Matt Rogers, oversaw DOE’s grant and loan program before returning to McKinsey & Company.
Gonzalez Rogers promised to remove herself from any cases regarding the granting of those funds, according to a questionnaire she completed for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

If we annex Californica to Mexico do you realize who all we would DUMP? SAN FRAN NANCY and the 9th circuit court of appeals just to name 2 - it’s like the state has become and anchor that is pulling down the Titanic even FASTER!
I live in San Diego and know many Mexican/Latina women. I employ several, I have them for my neighbors and I do business with them. As a group they are a nice and friendly people. Those I know are nothing like the militant witches who, because they occupy a position of power have become angry and bigoted. I have discovered just the opposite. Those I know do not like the angry, bigoted types who have been elevated by the leftist media. And they don't like being compared to them. I can understand that. I am nothing like those who may look like me.
Just do a Google.com searce for "Latina" and see what you get. Oh, yeah, hit "pictures". You may well find "videos" quite offensive!
Americans really need to start taking these “judges” a little more seriously. Any moron that comes down the pike is being placed in these positions to destroy America. They are not judges, they are social engineers out to destroy the American way of life.
