They are not useless. They are highly effective at gobbling up taxpayer dollars and also at killing birds. Oh, and of course making the landscape very ugly as is evidenced near where I live at the San Gorgonio Pass, the entry pass to Palm Springs (Coachella Valley), California.

If you live near a wind-farm do you get less bird-poop on your car? I would consider that a small plus.

I've seen them, several times. The Coachella Valley is my favorite spot on the planet. They do clutter up the landscape. Do they actually produce enough power to be worthwhile?
