The left makes absolutely everything about politics. What you drive, wear, eat, where you shop, vacation, what movies or tv shows you watch, and on and on. Nothing is just pure fun. They have to politicize holidays and everythig else. This is what makes it nearly impossible to be friends with a lefty because politics isn’t just one thing or area of life...it is ALL.

I like to think of the NBA I grew up watching with players such Jerry Lucas, Elgin Baylor and the like. There wasn't anything thuggish about the sport in those days, Sports, like every other institution in our society, has gone downhill in the last forty years. The NBA isn't what it used to be, but neither is anything else. I also grew up watching stock car racing but the the NASCAR of today is just as unwatchable as the NBA of today.

White Americans make up around 6 percent of the NBA. Most of the top white players — Nowitzki, Gasol, Nash, Turkoglu, Ginobili, Stojakovic — are foreigners. It could be that talented white athletes in this country don’t pursue basketball because it’s seen as such a black sport.

That’s the players and management that can’t have any contact with each other, and if they attend the same event they can barely talk to each other.

I DESPISE the NBA. I hope the season is cancelled and the league of punks and criminals is disbanded. The NFL and MLB represent American values. The NBA represents anti-American, gangsta “values” - which sync perfectly with Obama’s criminal conduct and lawless behavior.

Exactly the point.

They (the players) are being “locked out”. A “Lock Out” is when management does not like the current arrangement and then “locks” out the players in order to get a new arrangement.

In short, the Owners say that they lost 300 million dollars last season, (BS), so the players agreed to cut their share of revenue in order to cover all of the Owners losses, plus 50 million more per year.

They came to an agreement to where the owners would take 500 million off the top to cover loses/operations, and they then would share 50/50 the rest of the profits.

Then they reached an impasse, when the owners asked for modifications to the system as it pertains to player movement, payroll restrictions, and Luxury Taxes on “richer” teams. (Players are the capitalists, while the owners want a “socialist” business model.

So the players then sued the owners in federal court for anti-trust violations.

I obviously was wrong and do apologize. I should know being snarky often comes back and bites the snark.

“The NFL and MLB represent American values.”

When speaking of the American values of the NFL, are you speaking of Rae Carruth who had the woman who was bearing his child murdered or are you talking about the American values of OJ Simpson who allegedly chopped off his ex wife’s head?

“Players are the capitalists, while the owners want a “socialist” business model.”

Spot On!

I have use that very same argument on FR regarding the recent NFL lockout and was called all sorts of names.

But, here on FR you will run across many “conservatives” who will always side with pro sports owners over the players.

And the pro sports owners are indeed Socialists who take tax payer money to build their stadiums and seek millions in tax abatements.

On the other hand, the players have worked hard their entire life to develop their skills and now are the best in the world at what they do.

I don't know much about baseball players except a nice old man who played for the Washington Senators in the 1940s, but I've been around basketball and football players and almost as a rule, I liked the basketball players a whole lot more than the football players. If American values are reflected in the murder and mayhem NFL, we're in bad shape. I'll take the NBA over the NFL any day.

It is important to always keep up with statistics in sports.

Human Heads Chopped off by NBA Players-0

Human Heads Chopped off by NFL Players-2
