I wonder what the “quid” is for this “pro quo”? I guess one fine day these players just woke up and said “Golly gee - we should have a basketball game and give all the money to 0bama.” Or was it more like, “If you guys want us to lean on Stern you got to show us some love”?

Has he told them how much he is going to raise their taxes?

I wouldn't call them thugs in general. Kevin Durant seems like a decent fellow, Dwight Howard too. Carmelo Anthony on the other hand, had a part in the notorious anti-snitching video a few years ago. Sometimes a few people do live up to the sterotype.

I suppose they didn’t think to give the money to arena staff who are jobless this winter?

And of course the taxpayers will pick up the tab to fly all these thugs first class to DC and put them up in 5 star hotels.
God forbid that the DNC had to pay for any of the pukes re-election fund raisers.

A basketball game for an Obama fundraiser?
When I saw that headline I thought it was a caricature from The Onion. The KKK couldn't have come up with a more insulting idea for a public event for the nation's first half-black president.

So this is kinda like bringing back the old “Negro League” baseball, except it’s basketball?

How about doing this for charity instead. Oh I forgot. It’s for the benefit of our fearless leader. Charity can wait until after the election.

Are any of the players listed in the article people of lack of color? It's not in this article, but Kevin Love is mentioned as a participant elsewhere.
Not much color there.

The NBA Players union fooled themselves into thinking that the league is a necessary part of our economy. Oops. Turns out life goes on just fine without them.

An interesting concept....the Negro League had all the best baseball players. The American and National Leagues were the “minor” leagues and the only reason that their players were paid more was because they had a bigger fan base.
