Police in Reno went house to house in the middle of the night, pounding on doors and telling residents they had to evacuate as a roughly 400-acre blaze raged in rough terrain, destroyed homes and injured some people. At least one man is dead, after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest while evacuating.
Nearly 10,000 people from the edge of the city have been evacuated from the path of the massive wildfire and the local fire chief said the blaze could rage through Saturday.

“And she ran calling ‘Wildfire!’”
See what happens when you let crazy people run around calling who knows what?
Isn’t Janet getting a bit old for this nonsense?
I didn’t hear anything about this on the news this morning.
Does mean all those insane folks from Reno 911 will have to be relocated?? Hopefully not in Texas. LOL
Socialism kills.
These deaths are the direct result of allowing enviro-socialism to replace the 10,000+ year old historical management of the land by man.
“At least one man is dead, after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest while evacuating”
we generally see headlines like “Fire kills 1”
She’s hoping the fire will destroy the evidence of what really happened.
It won’t.
It hasn’t been on any of the national news channels that I have seen. I found out about it on The Weather Channel - and did a search on Google ‘news’. There are quite a few videos put on YouTube in the last couple hourse, also. Here’s one:

I know there's a video of him saying that but I couldn't find it.
No, they’re from Sun Valley, north of Reno proper.
This fire is in the southern side/southwest area of Reno. We used to live just south of where this fire is...
As someone who was very close to the Texas fires, and has friends who lost everything....prayers for the people enduring the fires in Reno.
I’m with you in prayer for people in harm’s way, the firefighters and those who have lost their homes............
Amen.
Who’s “she”?
Caughlin Ranch is one of several beautiful planned communities in Reno. It is right at the base of the Sierras.
My brother lives at the northern end of Lake Tahoe, and he said he can see evidence of the wildfires from there. Scary!
- 25 homes lost so far
- Over 10,000 Evacuated
- No defintive cause for fire...officials looking now
- Over 400 firefighters and even more police etc
- Over 2000 acres burned
- Disaster Zone declared

Nonsense.
You should go to Reno and look at it.
I'm surprised the fire had enough fuel to stay lit.
There's nothing for man to manage except scrub...and if you cut all of that you'll have mudslides in the winter/spring.
It's a generally inhospitable place:)
If it wasn't for the original mines, nobody would have stopped there in their western travels 150yrs ago.
No offense to the Reno residents, but that's one ugly town. And, the wind never stops.
Actually, it was a winter staging area before crossing the Sierras. If you could make it to Reno before the winter set in, you were safe. Fatten up over winter get an early start the next year, and you'd make it over the mountains okay. In those days, crossing the Sierras was dangerous as hell, and many people lost their lives thinking, "how bad can it be, we already crossed the Rockies and the desert, let's push on to California." Then the snow would come...
