The Pipeline Sellout
Obama puts politics over nation, again.
In 2008, the slogan was “Yes We Can.” For 2011–12, it’s “We Can’t Wait.” What happened in between? Candidate Obama, the vessel into which myriad dreams were poured, met the reality of governance.
His near–$1 trillion stimulus begat a stagnant economy with 9 percent unemployment. His attempt at Wall Street reform left in place a still too-big-to-fail financial system as vulnerable today as when he came into office. His green-energy fantasies yielded Solyndra cronyism and a cap-and-trade regime not even a Democratic Congress would pass.
And now his signature achievement, Obamacare, is headed to the Supreme Court, where it could very well be struck down, just a week after its central element was overwhelmingly repudiated (2–1) by the good burghers of Ohio.
So what do you do when you say you can, but, it turns out, you can’t? Blame the other guy. Charge the Republicans with making governing impossible. Never mind that you had control of the Congress for two-thirds of your current tenure. It’s all the fault of Republican rejectionism.
Hence: “We Can’t Wait.” We can’t wait while they obstruct. We can’t wait while they dither with my jobs bill. Write Congress today! Vote Democrat tomorrow!
We can’t wait. Except for certain exceptions, such as the 1,700-mile trans-U.S. Keystone XL pipeline, carrying Alberta oil to Texas refineries, which would have created thousands of American jobs and increased our energy independence.
For that, we can wait, it seems. President Obama decreed that any decision...

$1.4 billion in DOE grant funds went to RFK Jr. retarded solar-steam project in CA. Yes, $1.4 BILLION!!! To a Kennedy!
Nobody believes that either the goons or greens would vote for any republican for POTUS, but the question is how much "enthusiasm" is at stake WRT get-out-the vote workers and contributions. So which one would be worsa for Obama to p*ss off? Union members sre forced to "contribute" via dues. Maybe they got a bunch of threatening letters from greenies and took them seriously.
I agree totally, what he is doing here will manifest itself in lack of turnout in Nov. 2012.
I also believe the story of the election will be how blacks did not turn out. They are increasingly embarrassed by him. Not many will say it right now, that is, turn on him in a public way, but the lack of enthusiasm is there. Even this issue, the suppression of the pipeline and the offshore drilling, has a black constituency component, in that green issues simply aren't on black citizens' radar. They instinctively make the connection however, when they go to the pump.
I actually think I may still have a copy burned to DVD... I’ll get a chance Sunday to look and I’ll let you know if I find it. I think I loaned it to a TEA Party friend but I may still have a copy.

Kraut nails it, without even knowing some pertinent facts that reduce the environmental fears to absurdity.
As of 2007, Nebraska was ranked 19th highest in the number of stripper oil wells, tenth highest in average daily production per well, 18th highest in oil production from stripper wells, and 19th highest in total oil production of the 50 states.
Can you guess what all those thousands of oil wells were drilled through? The Ogalala Aquifer, that’s what. Never a problem with contamination. And that’s penetrating the aquifer, not just laying on top of the ground above it.
Obama is wrong on all counts, but most importantly, he’s wrong on the science. It’s just another example of Algore-like crap science used to create policies that hurt the American people.
Right on!

And this was before Bonaparte rose to supreme power in France.
Pretty much telling it like it is.

I hate the scumbag WHoccupier. I hate him hate him hate him, I’m afraid I’ll get cancer before he’s kicked out of WH!
You can bet that the Republican candidate will do a lackluster (at best) job of using this as a political club next year. The GOP seems incapable of or unwilling to play hardball with these leftwing crackpots.
Beck steals all the good stuff from TGO, Alinsky? TGO called it way before Beck could spell it.
Krauthammer doesn’t mention it in this article but I’m pretty sure it was him that said on Special Report yesterday that the Keystone pipeline would provide 7% of the nation’s oil needs. That is huge. 0bama is destroying this country intentionally.
The rats are proposing economic suicide for everyone working in traditional carbon sources of energy, not to mention those that are fracking for natural gas. IMHO, this could be the end for the Jacksonian Democrats and the rest of the rats.
Thanks for the info on Nebraska oil and the Ogalala Aquifer.
Krauthammer has never supported any of Obama's policies. Once, I believe, he expressed grudging admiration for Obama's political move compromising on the Bush tax cut extension. Hardly an endorsement of Obama's policies.
Of course, I will welcome links to Krauthammer pronouncements that show I'm wrong.
I look forward to reviewing that evidence myself.
Charles Krauthammer is a fiscal and defense conservative. On social issues, he pretty much toes the liberal line.
This explains his infatuation with Mitt Romney, a man he obviously endorse, but refuses to do so in public for some reason or other. The appearance of impartiality???
Who knows? I’d think he’d have been jumping on Gingrich’s bandwagon since they shared Fox Contributor status.
When was the last time the Kraut did that, three years ago? His formal post graduate medical training was as a shrink. Even shrinks get fooled by psychopaths.
