Herman Cain has defied the political odds so far in the face of campaign adversity, and it looks as if he has the GOPs conservative base to thank for it.
The last month of Cains presidential campaign has read like a textbook for how to doom a candidacy: having to deny allegations of sexual harassment, bungling important foreign-policy questions while saying hes not supposed to know anything on the subject, releasing a bizarre Web ad and canceling an editorial board meeting with a key New Hampshire newspaper.
And yet, in an Iowa State University poll released Thursday, the former Godfathers Pizza CEO remains the top choice of voters in the state, garnering nearly a quarter of voters. A Bloomberg News poll on Tuesday found him locked in a four-way tie for first among Iowa voters. Hes also maintained his top-tier status in most national polls and is fundraising at a record pace...

I just read that she dated Bob Torricelli. Nuff said. Should have been a tip off for Coulter as well when she dated Bill Maher.
But a Cain White House not nearly half as much fun. In fact he has said he will work out a much more common man approach and cut out a lot of the D.C. parties because of the unsustainability of costs, etc.
It is an exclusive "club" kind of thing. Cain is not part of that whole scene. A pure outsider. A lot of these "conservative" talking heads on the radio are (in the inner circle, incestuous schmoozers equally with Dems and Repubs). Therein I think lies the gap and loyalties. Some might well want to go back into government, and a Romney Administration would be the clearest land bridge into that effort as well. There are certainly deeper personal interests here at stake.
It’s called the DNC/RNC/ROVE/PERRY/ROMNEY/NEWT/OBAMA/MSM/INGIRM/HANNITY establishment cabal.... it’s all a set up... the elitist ruling class denying the average Joe the right to vote for whom they have chosen.
I agree. I’m done with Laura.
A friend in DC who sees her at the gym says she’s nasty anyway.
And yet another reference to the sadly ovehyped “Iowa University poll”. where 15 people definitely said they supported cain, while 12 said they supported Ron Paul and 10 said they supported ROmney.
Never have so few people made such a great impact in terms of regurgitating an otherwise forgettable poll.
I’ve had my last day of listening to the ever annoying voice of Ms.Ingraham. She used to have a good show. and to my knowledge, she used to be Conservative. Alas, she has gone all Rove on us..but more than that, she’s become downright unlikable bitter and mean...
They (0bama & Democrats) are even more frightened of this!!! If Herman Cain wins the POTUS nomination and runs with Marco Rubio for VP, the results will be:
- White voters for Cain/Rubio = 61%
- Black voters for Cain/Rubio = 30%
- Hispanic voters for Cain/Rubio = 30%
Election results = Obama devastatingly defeated, Democrat Party virtually destroyed at the polls.
Results for the country = equality, freedom, liberty, education, opportunity for all individuals who stress individual effort and hard work!!!
That would be a very very good ticket IMHO.
Obama said there were 57 states, Newt spoke with Nancy Pelosi about stopping the threat of global warming, Perry forgot his own plan. Haters use these incidents to discredit a candidate they already dislike. The truth is Herman gives us the best chance to win. I like Newt, his knowledge of the political landscape, but he lacks appeal outside of our base. Anyone who knows politics will tell you appeal trumps substance 90% of the time. Herman Cain has both. Unless we want a repeat of 2008, we better take the horse blinders off. A tidal wave of demographics is coming, and unless we begin to take advantage of competent, conservative minorities, we will forever become a fringe element. We cannot continue to lose 75% of the minority vote - a segment of the population which is by far outgrowing traditional white America - our fall will be inevitable. Leaders like Herman Cain, Allen West and Marco Rubio represent true opportunity and change. Newt is extremely capable - though he’s not a true conservative - but that’s not the issue. He will be stereotyped as the old, boring, elitist Republican. And it’s only a matter of time before the MSM airs his dirty laundry...flip flops, extra marital affairs, etc. This notion that Newt win will the presidency solely by debating Obama is fiction. Obama will only agree to several debates, of which, he will throw out a few empty but memorable barbs which the leftist media will repeatedly air to spin as a draw. The rest of the time he will have to find a way to appeal to America, independents, and disenfranchised Democrats. Charisma and energy are not his strong attributes; being part of the establishment is. This isn’t about personal choices, it’s about choosing the candidate who gives us the best chance to win in November. Will we learn?
I’ve never witnessed so many conservatives - Tea Party patriots or Republicans - attack one of our own. I’m not talking about a RINO, but an actual conservative in Herman Cain. Sure, he has made mistakes, but I can show you a laundry list of flip flops, gaffes, and/or poor choices by EVERY candidate. Leaders like Cain, Allen West & Marco Rubio stand the best chance of bridging the gap of this oncoming demographic tidal wave and keeping conservatism from becoming a fringe element. If someone is not your personal preference, so be it, but maliciously spreading propaganda from politico and the MSM is just ridiculous. So not only do we eat our own but now we’re their puppets?
We all cried foul when the media systematically destroyed Sarah Palin; and she made a number of gaffes...some seemingly quite silly or elementary. Regardless, we rallied around her because we believed in her overall potential, her philosophy, not because she was un or misinformed about several issues. Yet a majority of people were ready to make her president.
Has she ever ripped Mittens? Or is she with Coulter and Malkin on his side?
If the Republican “party” ends up evicerating their core by getting Romney (read: ObamaLite) in there and losing to the worst president we’ve ever had, then expect that in 2016, we will see Democrat, Republican, Tea Party and the Republicans will settle back to 3rd place. They seem to like being the losers so they can whine about it. The problem is, those of us in fly-over country are tired of it.
“...Regardless, we rallied around her because we believed in her overall potential, her philosophy, not because she was un or misinformed about several issues...”
SPot on brother. Well said.
“If someone is not your personal preference, so be it, but maliciously spreading propaganda from politico and the MSM is just ridiculous. So not only do we eat our own but now were their puppets?..”
That is why I absolutely refuse to get into the sh*t-slinging going on out here. Tired of it.
At the end of the day, the Libs, if they have their way, would see us ALL in gas chambers and re-education camps. We should not help them in that end goal - because, from their own mouths, it IS their end goal (see Bill Ayers’ comments to undercover agent Larry Gratwohl - ETL, pinging you here).
Be the point, or be the six, but recognize who the REAL enemy is and kick THEIR arses - not our own.
“...We cannot continue to lose 75% of the minority vote - a segment of the population which is by far outgrowing traditional white America ...”
We can’t lose something we never had, brother. And they’re outgrowing white America because we let the enemy convince our women to ignore their maternal instincts and murder their own children and call it a “choice”.

If conservativism is a ‘white philosophy’, it DESERVES to die.
Let’s own up to it, the problem isn’t conservativism, but that WHITE PEOPLE suck at being conservatives.
If anybody wants to call me racist so be it. I’m white, I call it as I see it.
Hmmmm....they all seem to have something in common....FoxNews. And who is FNC in the tank for? That's right, boys and girls...can you say Mittens?
ditto.
“..If conservativism is a white philosophy, it DESERVES to die...”
Nobody ever said it was “white philosophy”. And even if it WAS, it doesn’t “deserve” to die. It’s a valid way of living your life that’s proven successful. If more whites than others happen to live that way it doesn’t discredit it. It’s a choice that one group makes. And not all white believe it - as evidenced by a black liberal becoming President.
Liberalism, on the other hand, is the culture of death, subservience, insanity, and dependency. If anything deserves to fall by the wayside, it’s liberalism.
“...WHITE PEOPLE suck at being conservatives...”
Maybe some do. Most don’t. Can’t paint everybody with that brush, brother.
“..If anybody wants to call me racist so be it. Im white, I call it as I see it...”
I’m white too. It’s not racist to point out facts, unless people want race to be THE issue. They’re the true “racists” as I see it, because they have no valid argument or they have some other stake in the furtherance of racial greivances (e.g., Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, etc.).
The minority vote has gone to the Dems because they’ve been very successful at inculcating the idea that they’re the party of “the little guy” - all the while making certain that groups of people always THOUGHT of themselves as nothing more than “the little guy”, and setting the economic and political bar to further that idea.
Add to that the communist indoctrination and other bullshit, and you have a custom made instant conflict.
I call it as I see it too, brother. We’re on the same side. No beef with you on this.
