BOSTON -- The nonprofit organization that oversees the site of the Occupy Boston encampment wants the protesters out.
The chairwoman of the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancys board says in a Tuesday letter to Mayor Thomas Menino that demonstrators have prevented the general public from enjoying Dewey Square Park and forced the cancellation of other events scheduled for the site, including an Oct. 15 food festival.
The Boston Globe reports that Chairwoman Georgia Murray also wrote that sanitary conditions have worsened, farmers selling food in the area have seen sales decline because of "noise, odors, and interference" from demonstrators, and the camp has shown "disturbing signs of drug dealing."
A spokeswoman for the mayor says the administration is monitoring the situation and there are no current plans to forcibly evict the protesters.
Among comments: --Liberals turning on liberals, it doesn't get any better than this.
--If they close this park to the OWS gang, where will the misfits, malcontents, and moonbats go?
--With obama's best friend terrorest Bill Ayers involved in Occupy Chicago can the violence be far behind. This is nothing than a Democrat created joke to try to keep the pressure off the likes off obama and news of any off his dumb actions off of the nightly news. SEIU, ACORN, and Occupy Lizzy are all in the same boat and it's sinking. These clowns will not let this end nicely.
--Mother Nature will handle OWS... first blizzard and poof... they're gone!
The mayor, to misquote Obama, is "acting stupidly."
Howie List ping.
What if the tea party occupied:
—Louisburg Square Back Bay (a certain senator who lives there made them more a fire hydrant that was in front of
his mansion, lovey)
—Conti’s Liquors (and its do-you-know-who-I-am illegal alien uncle of the prez)
—liberal media (Globe, WGBH, etc.)
BOSTON MA. Proud of its role in the birth of the United States.
BOSTON MA. Soon to be proud of its role in the end of the United States, as we knew and loved it.
made them MOVE it should say
*farmers selling food in the area have seen sales decline because of “noise, odors, and interference” from demonstrators*
Not surprising. They hate farmers because they’re Capitalists.
Everybody wants the obomabots out of their neighborhoods.
Imagine how much these Obomavilles would stink right now if it were the middle of summer. omg!
'Mumbles' Menino is such a wuss!
Hey! That’s Mush Mouth Mennino!
As in NIMBY.
>>This is nothing than a Democrat0-created joke to try to keep the pressure off the likes off Obama and news of any of his dumb actions off of the nightly news.<<
Exactly. Notice how the “Occupy” movement cropped up virtually the same week that Solyndra and Fast & Furious were finally breaking into mainstream coverage. Then the Dems all come out supporting the anarchists, and the Occupy movement, along with MSM coverage, grows, while the scandals take a back seat, even as more are added to the pile.
Now imagine the coverage if Bush were President, and a Tea Party movement arise at the same time as the sort of scandals the Obama administration is now tagged with. All we’d be hearing day after day is news of the growing scandals. And the Tea Party would be a rag-tag bunch of clowns not deemed worthy of coverage.
Dewey DEFEATS Obama??? lol
A ton of well-to-do liberals in this upscale neighborhood. Would prove most comical.
This is the change you voted for.
It has nothing to do with NIMBY, it has to do with the occupooooopers pissing, pooping and destroying the property and the fact that the rest of us can't enjoy the park or use it for other things such as food festivals and other events that go on annually at the particular sight. The non profit sent the letter 10 days ago and mennino has chosen to ignore their wishes and has no plans to evict the occupooooopers. A group back in October had all the required permits, licenses, etc. (which are not free) for an event to be held in that area and the event was cancelled due to the vagrants occupying the area, enough is enough.
I stand corrected.
