A new Thanksgiving ad campaign targeted toward children in schools is barking up a storm this holiday season.
In a news release, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals announced this week that its new outdoor billboard advertising campaign will focus around a central message: "How would children feel if Fido and Fluffy were stuffed and roasted for Thanksgiving?"
The ads feature the head of a Jack Russell terrier on the body of a turkey, and reads, "Kids: If You Wouldn't Eat Your Dog, Why Eat a Turkey?"
The group said the billboards are going up near schools in Oklahoma, Oregon, Florida, New Mexico, Utah and Tennessee.
"Kids love animals, and if they thought about how turkeys feel pain and fear just as dogs and cats do, they'd trade in their drumsticks for Tofurky in a heartbeat," PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said. "This Thanksgiving, families can give all animals something to be thankful for by sticking to humane, delicious vegan meals."

Any of you ever try to tame a turkey as a house pet? Give your kids a choice between a turkey, or even a cow, and a dog, as a house pet, and guess which one they will choose.
Next time we came to visit, we ate the bull for dinner. Mom and Dad were worried what I would think, being just a little kid and all.
I didn't have a problem with it. The burgers were delicious. It was a good lesson in how the food chain worked, at least for me.
PETA's dogs rape turkeys! Down with PETA!
*snort*
These “advertisements” are proof that PETA and related groups come from a perversion of principle.
When teaching my kids, I always point out that people who post ads like this are obviously morally ill, so you have to examine their message with extreme care. It’s probably morally wrong also.
Guinea Hens are dumber than Ostriches. Next Door neighbor had some. They'd fly on top of his woodpile and forget how to get off. He'd need to knock them off with a broom.
Liberal Vegetarians could give them a run for their money, though.
Spit-take. OK, you got me.
I eat meat; I dont care if you eat meat, vegetables or thrive on minerals.
PETA Fascists dont eat meat; and want to impose their lifestyle on everyone else, so they are starting with the children first.
And there it is.
Love it!! Looks like my little Suzie dog I had when I was a teenager!!
I couldn’t eat a dog like a shepard or retriever, but if my annoying neighbors yapping little pomeranian showed up on a few skewers properly seasoned I think might enjoy a bite even if it did taste terrible,
I hear a sound track for that last pic: “Help Me!!! Help Me!!!”
Mmmmm, German Shepherd Pot Pie.
And, a bottle of Chianti, I presume?
I’d eat a dog only if it were hot! Get it - hot dog? Lame, I know, but in Louisiana you put that sucker in some sauce picante and it’s a meal:-)
This guy had a coop with a 16'x 16' fenced in yard. One one side, the fence was a 8' gate with another 8' section. Each morning when he opened the gate, the birds ran out of the coop to get to pasture. About half of them would run headlong into the part of the fence that didn't move.
I call all of my ducks Delicious.
Too many diabolic PSAs and ads running which tear down rather than build up. The schools using subversive ads; showing subversive videos; radio using subversive ads, television using subversive ads, and featuring little but trash!
The impressive and vulnerable are being messed up big time! Witness OWS! The tragic result of Communism in this country! They have control of it all, folks. Too bad we’ve all been kept in a blind stupor all this time because it’s been coming on for 60 years or more. So while we were wallowing in candyland we have, in the end, lost it all!
Does PETA members tastes like TURKEYS or Chickens...?? I never had a PETA member for dinner...LOL
