(CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will not release more Freddie Mac-related documents, according to campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond.
Though the contender for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination said Wednesday that his campaign would "do what they can" to release more information about payments he received as a consultant from the government-backed mortgage group, Hammond backtracked later in the evening.
When asked via email whether the campaign would release more Freddie Mac-related documents or if a fact sheet it released in the afternoon was the last word on the issue, Hammond responded to CNN, "last word."

Newtie is now TOAST!
Good- I hope Newt calls them personally and tells them to go F themselves
My estimation of HERMAIN CAIN just shot up several notches.
Neut doesn’t believe in transparency, obviously :)
C’mon Newtie, be a man for once.
Why? He got a job got paid for giving advice. Apparently they didn’t follow it.
See yah around, Newt.
This makes it look like you’re hiding something.
That’s not a good idea.
The MSM will FEAST on his bones!
If Newt is now toast over this, just think how easily it will be to take out obummer with all the info. the press has on him. This should be fun. Obummer will be beaten badly by Newt or any other Repub..
Shocking I tell ya! Just Shocking!....
Yawn...
Give’em hell Newt. Don’t give’em a damn thing. Make’em work. ha ha ha
Ye got’em skaid boy....!

“Newtie is now TOAST!”
According to the standards used agaisnt Cain it would be logical to say that.
I’m expecting all types of cat calls now about how Newt mishandled this or how all of his advisers need to be fired.
It's a tactic they use to keep the story alive and apparently the Gingrich campaign is not going to play along.
The only real news in the article is that Freddie Mac confirmed that Gingrich was a consultant and not a lobbyist.
I guess Newt’s handlers found something that was even more embarrassing than the original story about his lobbying.
$1.6 million for a former Speaker to help kill a bill to increase oversight on Freddie Mac prior to their $500 billion (and counting) taxpayer-funded bailout is a little more significant than a $45,000 settlement for a frivolous sexual harassment claim.
Newt.......Driving the “drive bys” nutty.
Get’em boy....!
And Mitt says “’mission accomplish’ - now who else will dare rise in the polls - #1 is my spot.”
