$1.6 million for a former Speaker to help kill a bill to increase oversight on Freddie Mac prior to their $500 billion (and counting) taxpayer-funded bailout is a little more significant than a $45,000 settlement for a frivolous sexual harassment claim.

Gingrich has said that he didn't lobby for Freddie Mac and sources cited in NPR and Bloomberg News reports confirm that.<

So really what this whole bogus kerfuffle is about is the fact that the Democrats, and a lot of people on FR, can tie the Gingrich name to Freddie Mac. Big freaking deal. Not to mention the fact that it was 10 years ago.

I'm not for any candidate at this point but it just chaps my ass to see FReepers helping the MSM to tar and feather one of their own using trumped up charges.
