What Could End Rush Limbaugh's Career?
Townhall.com ^ | 11/17/2011 | Michael Brown

Posted on 11/17/2011 10:04:23 AM PST by servo1969

It was surprising to hear Rush Limbaugh say the words, “I don’t have the guts to bring it up,” but he did, on November 8th, to his massive radio audience.

Rush Limbaugh lacking the guts to address something publicly? Rush Limbaugh not willing to tackle controversy? Really?

He was responding to a statement by a caller named Lawrence as they discussed Joe Paterno and the scandal at Penn State.

CALLER: “What’s that?”

RUSH: “Nobody has the guts to actually give the explanation for what was going on and why there was trepidation in reporting it, and that's all I'll say. If you can figure it out on your own, fine and dandy. . . .”

What was Rush talking about?

Let’s put this in context. If there is any prominent figure in America who does not bow down to political correctness or media pressure, it is Rush Limbaugh. In fact, he’s on record as saying that when people try to silence you, you should shout louder.

-snip-

What is it that, in his words, could end his career? What is it about the Penn State scandal that is “glaring; it's right in front of everybody,” and yet “Nobody has the guts to actually give the explanation for what was going on and why there was trepidation in reporting it”?

What has Rush done for the military? At least Hannity is very active with charities assisting families of dead or injured warriors. What has Rush done sent out a case of tea? When it comes to the military I earned my self righteous indignation over those who talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.

I do not know Rush personally so I have to believe his silence has do to with the entertainment industry. Entertainment is a niche industry for gays. Anyone who doubts that Rush is an entertainer is too caught up in adoration for the man. He is a pioneer in political talk radio as a entertainment medium. But, he is in an industry dominated by gays, so he keeps his mouth shut.

I have no use for moral cowards. Especially if they tout themselves as “conseravtive”.

I agree, if anyone claims to be the voice of conservatives they have to e more than fiscal conservatives.

Rush and the military?

Raises a bunch of money for one of the Marine charities - not sure which one - on a regular basis for one thing.

Constant supporter of them with his opinions as another. Constant enemy to those in the media and in political office who are anti the US Military. Pretty active at tweaking the anti military protestors too.

If you don’t like him for whatever reason, that’s your choice. He has a ton of overseas listeners. Gets a ton of gifts and letters from active duty folks.

Oh, he also turned that Harry Reid incident with the phony soldier into a fund raiser of some sort for the military.

And this is just off top of my head.

I don’t know what your problem is.

My answer is that the leader of our country could possibly be a fan of the Afghani ‘Dancing Boy’ scene. He is bolstered by the gay, lesbian, transexual segment while not having to endure the sidebar whispers from a media that would let him get away with murder.

If Rush were to claim such, he’d be crucified by the media....

Oh! Wait! This has all been a frightful dream! I, on advice from my lawyer, am not claiming or making any assertion our Dear Leader is, um, gay.....

Opinions and some Marine charity? That's it? Gay is not a benign factor, race is. To be gay one must prescribe to a specific sexual activity outside normal behavior. Introducing open gay sexual activity to the military introduces a plethora of problems not mention costs. To force the repeal gay activist had to get Congress to define military service as a “right” which it has never been. You now introduced a plethora of additional problems. My “problem” is conservative hosts, so called leaders like Rush were dead silent on the repeal. When needed Rush and Hannity were no where to be found.

You clearly have no idea what a radio talk show is about. You demean “opinions” which is really laughable since OPINION is the friggin currency of a radio talk show. Rush’s time and opinion is THE MOST VALUABLE CAPITAL HIS SHOW HAS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

His show was not set up as an organization to be a political activists on behalf of the military. Neither was Hannity’s. The fact is they invest a lot of their time - and remember, that’s their number one commodity - into blatantly pro military causes. Same with Levin.

To demean what they’ve done by way of their on air opinions is simply to show ignorance as to what a talk show is about. That is the most valuable thing a talk show could ever do.

Sorry it’s not good enough for you. All three are widely loved by military men and women. And for good reason.

Rush has been AWOL on the rabid homosexual
agenda since at least 1990...He’s dead silent about it.

hmm...not really...
(IMHO) he took a stand, but many in (Liberal) Radioland
"threatened to" move his early sponsors elsewhere....
Limbaugh's audience has grown so large
& diverse now even the Liberals can't stop him now

I don’t get much radio out where I live so haven’t listened to Rush in quite a few years, and to tell the truth, got sort of tired of his schtick.

But even when I still listened to him, he rarely if ever mentioned a lot of issues that are important to social conservatives. I started listening to him in maybe 1988 when he was only in Sacramento. I was learning then...

Anyone who profresses to support the military and says not one word about the heinous repeal of DADT is betraying the military. I can't tell how many people have communicated to me on FR, off of FR, or that I've read here and there who are leaving the military, not re-upping, or their children are leaving or not re-upping, or not joining, who were planning to - ALL BECAUSE OF FAGGOTS IN THE MILITARY!

It's going to ruin the military. Ruin it. Saying nothing is betrayal. The majority of those serving in the military - a LARGE majority - do not want to serve along with mentally ill sex perverts.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

Not everyone can fight every important battle, you nitwit.

And I don’t buy that he didn’t utter a single word on it anyway.

BUMP what you said.
The sodomization of the military is a disgrace. I never hear any of the GOP candidates talk about what they will do about it, the freaking cowards.

...by extension penn st itself was funded by the prostitution of young boys in the 2nd mile foundation. Sandusky and paterno were pimps for the administration and high level donors.

Are you saying the boys were 'favors' for large donors?

Of course not everyone can fight every battle. But in the many, many years that Rush has been speaking for three hours a day, five days a week, he has practically never mentioned the grave dangers of the homosexual agenda - to our Constitutional rights of freedom of association, speech, and religion - for starters.

And anyone who calls themselves “conservative” and does not and has not spoken out strongly against putting mentally ill sex perverts in our military is a traitor. Sorry you think I’m a nitwit - but there was much testimony be military experts to Congress about how allowing homosexuals in the military is dangerous for military morale and readiness. Anything that is dangerous for our military should be fought against - no one should remain silent in the face of this evil.

If anyone can find evidence that Rush spoke out against homosexuals in the military, I’ll be glad to read it. Considering that practically no Repbulicans in DC have mentioned it, I have few hopes that Rush did. Most Repubs are a bunch of disgusting cowards.

You clearly do not listen to him much, you have no understanding of what his “job” is and no humility about your own ignorance of and lack of participation in other critical issues are.

Because you clearly have them, as we all do. The difference is, some of us realize that we all have different hot buttons and different roles - and you live in some sort of sick fantasy world where only YOUR hot button issues are sacrosanct. You make no sense.
