Just before Mitt Romney left the Massachusetts governor’s office and first ran for president, 11 of his top aides purchased their state-issued computer hard drives, and the Romney administration’s e-mails were all wiped from a server, according to interviews and records obtained by the Globe. Romney administration officials had the remaining computers in the governor’s office replaced just before Governor Deval Patrick staff showed up to take power in January 2007, according to Mark Reilly, Patrick’s chief legal counsel. Andrea Saul, a spokeswoman for the Romney campaign, said the governor’s aides did nothing wrong.

My position on Romney: If he wins the primary I still won’t vote for him.

That said, this business of being required to save all emails is absurd and downright orwellian.

It is fascinating that the government can require companies to save all emails, but they don’t require companies to record all meetings and save those recordings.

It actually offends me to the core that non-contractual communications are REQUIRED BY LAW to be saved.

RINOmney’s trolls wanted to remove all the marching orders they received (and complied with) from the dim-bulb-crats.
We’re talkin’ Massachusetts, here.

Corruption unlimited.

It is a fact of life today especially for Government. Issa has been reading the solyndra e-mails. Can you imagine what criminal acts would be agreed to if e-mails were off limit.

If you don’t want people to KNOW, DON”T send it by e-mail.

Carrier Pigeon is about the only SECURE messenger service today.

I guess they were just really atttached to their computers (Sarcasm).

I bet they DIDN’T buy their COPIERS. Office copiers have a COMPUTER MEMORY in them which records and retains ANYTHING copied or scanned on them unless the memory is erased.

I WONDER what is on any of their office copiers?????

No, Governments are suppose to have archives. It is Government property. Might as well shut down the internet research feature. No records to search.

Very smart move. When pulling up stakes, leave nothing behind for the enemy to use and abuse. Massachusetts is a snake pit.

No, no, no, you people just don't understand, and angel of the Lord took possession of the hard drives. They are in the same safe location in heaven as the golden plates.

LDS Temple Recommend interview question...

"9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?"

Romney is a bragging temple recommend holder. You see the only possible thing is angelic requisition, he is both honest AND hiding evidence !! ...Same with Harry Reid, an angel told him to be a commie.

/sarcasm

Yeah, an old political phrase I learned in the 1970’s:
Never write down what you can say.
Never say what you can whisper.
Never whisper what you can nod.
Never nod what you can wink.
Never wink what you can smile.

I don’t know. I guess it depends on the size of the memory and the usage.

I think the “open records laws” means those records have to be saved. Something like that.
