It is early and the polls will bounce all over. Iowa does not look good for Newt; NH looks like it will go for Romney. Maybe Iowa will go for Cain. I think Fox is pushing Romney.. even heard Imus state he is for Romney.

Here are recent interview videos in which Newt addresses the issue:

I don’t get it.

Newt supported TARP, worked to protect Freddie Mac and has been totally unreliable for conservatives.

In my opinion Cain is the only one who can beat Romney in Michigan but Romney will lose to Obama. I believe Cain can also beat Obama here which is the real goal.

I don’t see anyone else in the race who can do the same.

onyx, I have really enjoyed “listening” to the candidates. Their words, ideas and responses. I shut out the media and the spin and base my decision on the candidate alone. Newt is the right man imo. Greta will ask tough questions..I want to hear it all

If my memory is correct from statistics long ago it take 880 random samples to accurately count the percentage of different colors in a jars of colored jelly beans. So 370 is far short of 880. Another problem for polls the random thing. A lot of people (me for instance) just hang up rather then take a poll. I would be curious to know how many hang up and how that is dealt with in calculating the percentages.

But it can not be denied that Newt is gaining traction and moving up. Now he needs to get organized, I heard he doesn't have the organization to complete after earlier primaries. He has time, hope he can put something together. Cain has the same task ahead of him too.

Newt isn’t a teaparty candidate. He is an insider’s insider.

Yep.

Is she telling us what we should do or stating fact? Either these things are true or they are not. He WILL need to address them. To think he wouldn’t be targeted when it was his turn at the top is naive at best. The powers that be, left or right, want Romney. We’ve been told all along by Newt supporters that he’s been fully vetted and anyway he knows how to stand up to the scrutiny. If that’s the case he’ll come out just fine.

However, it will be interesting to see whether Newt’s supporters say some of the same things they’ve mocked Cain & Perry supporters for.

Cindie

Cain supported Tarp. Newt owned a consulting firm and was hired as a consultant by freddie mac...nothing illegal. Now, freddie mac did donate to Cain’s senate race in Georgia. Do you understand the federal govt pays consultants high prices ranging from the dept of transportation, dept of defense and post office? it is legal and his advice was solicited. He said they did not listen ...in the meantime look at the money the actual freddie mac execs made...

I didn’t say it was illegal. Insider Trading is legal if your in Congress too.

Newt was trying to protect Freddie Mac from more government oversight. Apparently he was also paid to push Bush’s medicare drug entitlement program.

He is no conservative.
