“I am not voting for the foreign policy expert. I am voting for the man who knows how to lead, and who has character.”
That’s great, you tell me how you believe Cain is the candidate with those qualities? I’ll let the Character issue go for now, please tell me how you feel being a business leader means you will be an effective political leader.
Given in the entire history of the United States, not one person has been elected president who did not either have Military Service, Government Service or both before getting elected, what makes you think that Business Leadership translates to governmental leadership? They are completely different beasts, and anyone who has been around both of them will tell you.
To presume a sucessful Politician will be a successful Business Man, just because he was a successful politician is crazy. The inverse is also true, to presume that a successful Business man will be a successful politician is also true.
Seems to my thinking, if Cain success in business directly transferred to politics, he wouldn’t have a political background running for the White House, with nothing but a history of failed political campaigns.
Cain’s a nice enough guy, but leadership in the political arena he has definitely not shown any aptitude for to date.
should read is also not true.
Being successful in business as your only qualification has never once lead anyone to win the white house.. nor has it guaranteed success at other levels of government by those who have tried, in fact, when I think back on my lifetime most folks coming to even the HOUSE trying to get in with only a business background, the overwhelming majority fail.
His time spent as CEO of the NRA as well as serving on boards of many major corporations is the political/government parallel in the business world.
