The military prohibits a retiree demonstrating or making a political statement in uniform. I suspect police have the same rule.

This ‘uneducated public’ person, got a sharp lesson when
“W” was visiting Orange County, CA. One petite ‘lady’,
wife of a police man - pushed me off the sidewalk, as if
she were a mack truck. In shock, I chalked it up to rudeness but then noticed that the cops were picketing a GOP meeting in Anaheim. They had her back!
Next was the fireman who pushed me away from greeting “W”. He and his buds had been bused in to Irvine and had their local
union ID on their shirts. California is BK because of these
poor bully's who just can't get enough benefits. I hate that I can no longer give the cops and fire guys uncompromized respect.
