Joe, I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’m a woman and have dealt with comments, jestures, whatever @ work, but I chose to ignore and/or handle on my own. I have never complained to HR even once. Not into that.
One thing I’ve noticed is the women who claim sexual harrassment are normally not the “best looking things” in the office. Me thinks they WISH they could get attention, but they don’t ;)
Of course, they are always those who are so uptight they’d sue the wind for blowing up their skirt if they could.
Good for you -- I would think most men would be smart enough to get the message the first time. For constant repeat offenders who think they are God's gift to women and that "no" means "maybe" a visit to HR or more may well be on the agenda.
