About two weeks after a Texas Hill Country store owner advertised a concealed handgun class that was not open to Muslims or Obama supporters, the Austin American-Statesmen reports that Crockett Keller has changed his position, amid negative national attention drawn to the policy as well as a state investigation.
The newspaper wrote:
In a statement released (Monday) evening, Tom Vinger, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said an investigation of Crockett Keller has been closed after Keller affirmed that he would not refuse instruction to anyone based on national origin, race or religion.
DPS will have no additional comment at this time, Vinger said.
Keller, the owner of Kellers Riverside Store in Mason, told the Houston Chronicle he initially got calls of support and solidarity over the radio spot, which said If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner-in-chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as under the laid. Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class.
He was unashamed of his remarks, but Muslim groups across the country, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Texas, have spoken out against his discrimination policy.

The religion thing is a loser, he should give it up. Glad to see it’s OK to bar liberals and Obama supporters. Seems to me a citizenship requirement would be reasonable, accompanied by a loyalty oath, but I doubt he needs the additional aggravation.
I spoke to him about the time all of this was going on (he had the table on the opposite corner to mine at the Fredericksburg gun show a few weeks ago). I heard him mention to someone that he’d had a death threats- and he told me that with all the people calling him up, he’d have to rent the local civic center to give his class! (that last part seemed a bit tongue-in-cheek).
Would a black be expected to teach a known KKK or White Supremacist? Why should an American Christian be forced to train someone who looks upon them as a Dhimmi and as a viable target for jihad? He should make the Muzzies prove that their Koran is not filled with hate speech before anyone will teach them anything.
Stores are able to post “no shirt, no shoes, no service” signs. They’re also able to post they reserve the right to refuse service. How is this any different?
Most states have laws regarding discrimination based on race, and less effectively on religion, though I doubt his ban on Muslims would fly anywhers. Simply a fact. He can turn down liberals and Obama voters, shirt and shoes or not.
You might take it a bit far when you bring in the Koran, but I think it would be reasonable to require an indication of loyalty to the USA. Certainly citizenship. But people lie, wouldn't accomplish much.
True, but if you say “I’m not comfortable teaching you how to use a gun, because your religion wants me dead”, then how do they get around that? I think the guy should have said “No Muslims” but with an explanation.
Sounds like he turn into a vagina.
So who thinks he was threatened with jail time for some obscure law they say he broke.
I did, too, but we have no idea what kind of "communist" pressure and threats can come at someone standing for truth.
It's easy for me to say that I would tell those Muslim bastards, or any other leftist a-holes, to take a long walk off a short pier, but who knows what kind of situation that guy is in.
Still... I think I would go ahead and tell them to kiss my...
He should have offerred the classes at no cost, then sued the the plaintiffs for violating his constitutional rights!
JC
As long as we allow these bastards to hide behind the lie that Islam is a religion, we loose.
Islam is a socio-political suystem with religious overtones, i.e. a tyrannical theocracy. Its not a religion.
CAIR has got to be attacked - vigorously and often.
