BETTENDORF, Iowa - An early copy of Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry's government reform speech shared with the Des Moines Register shows the Texas governor is planning to propose widespread changes for the federal government, including term limits on federal judges and Supreme Court justices, a part-time Congress, and laws criminalizing insider trading.
The governor first previewed the reforms in a speech Monday evening at an event by the Scott County Republican Party, where he said, "Washington doesn't need a new coat of paint, it needs a complete overhaul." Today, he will deliver the details of his plan in a speech at the Schebler Manufacturing facility.

Isn’t that the truth...obviously the Perry haters on this thread also know that is true. Otherwise, why waste their time posting silly propaganda against Perry on Perry threads.
Perhaps you should stop posting and take a minute or two and read up on what you're commenting on.
I just don't believe that's what the American people want....demographically this country is a lot different than it was during Reagan's time. Unfortunately, I've reached the conclusion that most Americans deep down love big government, even those who call themselves "Conservatives."
I disagree with your assessment.
The anti-Perry trolls are out in force...must have got their DNC checks in the mail...
C’mon, the anti-Perry trolls are fun! It’s like watching a bunch of apes at the monkey house flinging poo for their own amusement!
Although he is not my preferred candidate, I wont bash him. I would like a discussion of his ideas here. Anyone want to weigh in? I am unable to listen to him speak at the moment.
All the information is here.

Thank you for wanting to know the issues.
The Vetoes of Rick Perry
As Texas governor, he broke records and earned conservative support.

Perry's so good at creating jobs, look he's even making jobs for his detractors.
That's my guess! A more dishonest, hateful and obnoxious herd of trolls would be hard to find.
I don’t care about Cain’s ‘performance’
Romney is great in his ‘performances’ on stage- do you want him?
For the life of me I can't understand the almost visceral dislike of Rick Perry here on FR. To be sure many are trolls, a lot of 'em noobs, and disgruntled Cain/Paul/Bachmann, etc. shills. Whatever...
In any case, I want to say I admire your tenacity in your continued support of Perry. He is far from the second coming but I suspect many here on FR would have difficulty recognizing the second coming anyway. OMG, the Man has dust on his sandals!!!
I agree wholeheartedly.
Seconded.
I ‘think’ Perry is a nice guy. I believe that he is a good man. Compared to Obama, he would be a breath of fresh air. I have read the pledges and I think most of the listed positions are certainly reasonable.
However (you knew that was coming, LOL), however, it’s is just too late.
I have already read and heard all of his excuses, so I don’t need to hear them again, but his performance has been so incompetent and dismal that he has made himself look like a dufus.
Of course, he may very well not be a dufus and he may be extremely intelligent, but that is the perception that his poor performance has given.
I believe that it is too late for him to turn around that perception, regardless of what he now says in his apparent desperation.
Too little-too late.
Hardly little and hardly new or late.
It is not too late. There has not been one vote cast yet. A lot can happen between now and the first vote being cast.
I’m liking it !
