The problem with Cain is not that he would make bad decisions as POTUS. Any president will have to rely on his advisers - he couldn’t possibly keep all the details of every issue in RAM - not even Newt. I think Cain would be more than able to properly assess those opinions and options, and make decisions as well as anyone else.
The problem is, with this kind of stumbling and inability to articulate, he will not be able to defeat Obama. He is proving to be not electable.
He doesn’t talk down to people. Herman Cain speaks the people’s language directly to the people. He talks like a real person, not like a robot spouting rhetoric to make them seem smarter than they really are. Rather than spouting rhetoric, Mr. Cain speaks more personally to his audience. And Herman Cain was once a rocket scientist with more than one degree! How many of the others can say that, not that Mr. Cain would.
He is not an actor. He is a very honest and real person, not a robotic politician. I have never seen him stumble.
It is very troubling that so many people on Free Republic are so blind.
Don't be ridiculous. Newt could take a 3AM phone call, questions from the WH Press Corp, and give a SOTU address all on 30 minutes' sleep without once having to ask an advisor for details.
Exactly. He is surprisingly ill-informed about basic foreign policy 101 type questions.
Newt is completely unelectable.
We're not talking about who is the president of Uzbeckibeckibeckistanstan is. We're talking about a major foreign policy decision taken by this president within the last few months, and whether Cain thought he did the right thing or the wrong thing. And Cain couldn't come up with a coherent answer. As near as I can tell, Cain could have backed Gadaffi in this.
