Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the 2008 Republican presidential standard-bearer, has taken pains to avoid weighing in on the 2012 GOP primary. But on Sunday, McCain said he was "very disappointed" that some Republicans defended waterboarding at Saturdays National Journal/CBS debate in South Carolina.
Waterboarding is torture, McCain, who was a prisoner of war and tortured during the Vietnam War, said via Twitter.
On Saturday, Herman Cain and Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota both endorsed waterboarding as an interrogation technique. President Obama banned its use at the beginning of his term, calling it cruel and counterproductive.

John McCain is a jacksss.
A January 2006 CIA Predator attack in the northern Pakistani village of Damadola, where U.S. intelligence believed al-Qaeda's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was meeting with a group of extremists. At least four al-Qaeda members were killed in the attack, but Zawahiri was not present, and 18 civiliansincluding five childrenwere reportedly killed, setting off angry demonstrations across Pakistan against the U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) said: "It's terrible when innocent people are killed; we regret that. But we have to do what we think is necessary to take out al-Qaeda, particularly the top operatives."
I’ll tell you what torture is - being in the position of having to vote for John McCain or accept an avowed socialist islamist sympathizer whose main goal seems to be the dismantling/transformation of America. That’s torture.
That should get him the full lineup of Sunday programs.
Pray for America
IMO, any combatant who flagrantly violates the Geneva Convention - terrorism, no uniforms, targeting civilians, hostages, etc. - has NO rights, human or otherwise. Therefore, anything you do to the creature is perfectly legal.
This is the attitude that will quash terrorism.
Can’t believe I voted for this putz.
I would say that any definition of torture would have to inlude acts that you would never consider doing voluntarily.
Our troops volunteer for water board training. - uncomfortable but not torture
Would you volunteer to have your fingernails torn off? No? torture.
Get the idea?
If it saves innocent American lives and/or prevents terrorism I don’t care if it is torchure.
This is a good illustration of the dangerously misleading idea that a "victim" is somehow in a position to lecture people who are not victims. It is a bad idea. A very bad idea, and is pervasive among the practitioners of the western liberal whorehouse.
It is exceedingly painful but it works.
It's all natural, and you can be trained to deal with it effectively.
.The fear arises out of ignorance.
Conservatives to McCain...
Having to vote for McCain over Obama is torture.
Waterboarding would have been a walk in the park in comparison!
Cant believe I voted for this putz.
You didn't. You voted for Sarah Palin.

No John...
Meghan is torture.
Water boarding, (Forced Neti Potting) MIGHT be “torture” under the commie liberals’ new definition of “torture” (Along with playing heavy metal music too loud, not allowing the terrorists to get at least 8 hours of sleep, denying the terrorists access to HBO and Showtime, etc.) but I still wish Juan McCain would just go the hell away. He’s too old for this sh*t and an embarassment to America. Somebody (Shemp Smith or Juan Williams?) said today that “waterboarding” is “unconstitutional”. Anybody know where I can find “waterboarding” in the U.S. Constitution? Only an uninformed, ignorant or very moronic “journalist” in Hawaii would think that “waterboarding” is “torture”.
If John had been waterboarded in Nam instead of the physical torture they used against him, he wouldn’t have permanent infirmaties today.
You’re in the wrong party, Juan.
Listening to you and your pathetic daughter is torture.
CONSERVATIVES to McCain AND the GOP:
Screw you. We don’t need you telling us what anything is.
FUJM
Ah yes. Now I remember.
Yeah, so?
