If it comes down to that, I won't be thrilled to be voting for Romney, just as I wasn't thrilled to be voting for McCain, but of course I will do so.

I figured as much. You go right on ahead and hold your nose and do that. And then you will undoubtedly be among those complaining in subsequent years about how we can never get rid of the RINOs who plague the Conservative movement.

Thank you for contributing to the never-ending cycle.

Thank you for contributing to the never-ending cycle.

Again, if you see no difference between the current president and the less than desirable crop of challengers, you must be covering your ears when Mark Levin argues against this belief every night. The reason for our party's failure to nominate a satisfactorily conservative candidate so often has zero to do with the general election. It is based on the fact that the Republican party is divided between three factions: The conservatives, the libertarians, and the Rockafellers/neocons/establishment Republicans. Currently, the conservatives make up the majority of the registered members of the party. Romney appeals to the Rockafellers, and is getting virtually all of their votes, making him the front runner. Like it or not, Cain, Perry and Gingrich all appeal to different segments of the conservative vote, and are dividing it. Paul is getting his people. Unfortunately, group psychology has shown that the vast majority of voters in a primary simply don't know much about the candidates, and will vote for the front runner. People like you, who spend their time trashing Romney's competitors are doing their unawarring best to ensure that Romeny is the candidate. I'm certainly not asking you to stop making stupid arguments against Gingrich, but you should be aware that if you are attacking Romney's competition, you are doing what you can to ensure that he ends up with the nomination. Palin isn't running because even when she was she couldn't crack double digits. I love the woman, but she would have a much better chance if she served a few years in a Republican cabinet before giving it another shot.
