If Sarah Palin had run for president, Sunday night's episode of "60 Minutes" likely would have marked a significant moment for her campaign.
In the venerable CBS News program's opening segment, Hoover Institute fellow and Palin adviser Peter Schweizer previewed his forthcoming book, "Throw Them All Out," which details allegations of legal, yet ethically dubious insider trading and conflicts of interest among members of Congress.
There are all sorts of forms of honest graft that congressmen engage in that allow them to become very, very wealthy, Schweizer told correspondent Steve Kroft. So it's not illegal, but I think it's highly unethical, I think it's highly offensive, and wrong.
Schweizer has been described in various news reports as a foreign policy adviser and a speechwriter for Palin. In fact, he is both of those things, and far more than that.
Though he has managed to stay largely under the radar until now, Schweizers influence on Palin since joining her staff last spring has been profound.
When Palin was still mulling a presidential run back in September, she delivered a closely watched speech in Iowa that served as a preview of sorts for Schweizers new book. In the speech, it was the former Alaska governors references to crony capitalism and the permanent political class that picked up the most attention -- buzz phrases that appear near the very beginning of Schweizers new tome....

I do, onyx. Please add me to Sarah’s new ping list. Thanks!
Article starts off with: “If Sarah Palin had run for president, Sunday night’s episode of “60 Minutes” likely would have marked a significant moment for her campaign.”
I’ll bet Sunday night’s episode wouldn’t have ever seen the lights, camera, action had she run. Ludicrous to say they’d have given her a boost.
HELL 60 minutes would have had her on the rotisserie.
If Sarah had run for President, 60 Minutes would have been about the handicapped Little League on Sunday. Duh.
It is never too late. Palin 2012
Take it to another forum, newbie retread.

Stupid reporter couldn’t list a single thing Obama’s done.
LOVE the way Newt defends Palin
AND the way he dresses down the media -
maybe so, time / history will tell...
actually John Stossel's Specials on
FBN #359 DirecTV is "ON" target!
Yes! Newt takes it to the lamestream. He gives journ0lists no quarter. He spoke in favor of VP nominee, Sarah Palin better than anyone else.
Good point. A real man defending Sarah. Newt doesn't mince words. I just want to see more and more and to hell with his detractors. He's exactly what we need right now.
I watched him on Hannity’s TV show this evening. He’s prepared for the onslaught of smears and rehashings of his past. He pointed out the number of books he’s written (23?) and the countless speeches he’s given, and said detractors can find always stuff to throw at him; it’s not like he’s been in hiding.
This primary season is very ugly. The candidates should concentrate on winning the voters in the early states and stay from away from the lamestream.
I would tell each to ignore the polls which are the creation of the media and for the media.
Not one vote has been cast. The lamestream uses those polls to influence and also to direct big money and our little money to candidates, AND away from our conservative candidates.
To he// with their polls. I say, choose the candidate you like best, and if you’re so inclined to send money, just do it.
With Sarah out of the race, I’m emotionally detached.
I just don’t want Romney to get away with winning the nomination and if Newt is the one to bring Romney down, I’m all in for Newt!
So you have no interest in Newt's recent record or statements, and will only listen to what he wants you to hear?
Good luck with that.
Gingrich: Strategic Blunder for Palin to Mock Obama as Community Organizer
And THIS is what Palin had to say about Newt's backstabbing of Paul Ryan and his snide "right wing social engineering" remark:
