Results from new poll of GOP primary voters from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling: Newt Gingrich (28 percent), Herman Cain (25 percent), Mitt Romney (18 percent), Rick Perry (6 percent), Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul (5 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Santorum and Gary Johnson (1 percent).
One particularly interesting note from PPP: Theres reason to think that if Cain continues to fade, Gingrich will continue to gain. Among Cains supporters 73 percent have a favorable opinion of Gingrich to only 21 percent with a negative one.

Speak for yourself BenKenobi.
Problem.. is he's doing this already with the new advisors who ARE experts...so it certainly isn't because they aren't informing Cain. At some juncture one has to just face reality it's not who is advising him.....he's just jumped in over his head this time around...he hasn't been prepared and he's not prepared now.
Additionally we are not electing 'cabinet members' for President...we are electing a President to the highest and most powerful office in this land....and this at a time where our country is in great peril within and without as never before....The fact Cain himself continues to state time and again he'd 'have to hear what others say'...not realizing that as a Presidential Candidate they want to hear what HE has to say about the issues....and it's his lack of understanding what they are and a clear response to these IS the issue.
People were more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt...but time and tide continue to show he's just not absorbing what he needs to and will certainly fail before Obama in a debate from what we've seen of late.
I have been a Newt Gingrich fan since the 80’s. His sins are not against any of the principles of conservatism. I see him as a King David kind of character. Flaws, yes, but also the man for the times.
Fair enough.
I do agree with your observation. Thank you for your input.
Now, I am really confused about the remaining Career Politician RINO options.
Global governance is not against the principles of conservatism? AGW? ANWR? Federal Education Dept?
Sorry, you have a bizzare kind of conservatism.

.
caww, you’re being grossly deceptive here.
Cain is answering questions honestly and intelligently. The questions are subjective, and do not have simple answers. It is greatly to Cain’s credit that he isn’t giving snap-quickie answers like the liar Newt, who has no more knowledge about libya than my 11 year old grand daughter does. The answers are rooted in policy, not hard facts, and the policies of the last four administrations have been dead wrong. New analysis is needed.
Ginrich is deeply at fault in everything that has gone wrong in the past 15 years or so. His opinions are worthless, and represent what has to be rejected, not blindly followed.
Understandable...however each has to draw his own conlucions on what he can live with in a candidate which isn't;t what might be the ideal.
What helped me decide was to focus on the real seriousness for the condition of our country is right now......and what time Obama has left to take it down further before he's out and what he will do on his way out. That is very concerning to imagine. With that in mind we may very well need more than a conservative....If I needed emergency surgery I would want one experienced in doing surgery....who can take out the disease because they can identify it, knows the body well and what to avoid in order to make the "surgical strikes" necessary to stop the bleeding.
I wouldn't care one iotta who the surgeon was sleeping with or not. Nor would i be all that concerned of the missteps he made 20 years ago...rather what does he now know, and what is his reputation now.
Newt's wives all support his run and have forgiven him...so do I...Many conservatives understand this is a critical election concerning our country's survival in more areas than one...and the international threats are certainly higher than most imagine...not to mention those right here in our country...our southern border is at was...and Islam continues to infest our land...and Obama recently appointed two muslim's to our national security leadership....something that puts even the office of Pres. in crisis IMO. Newt identifies Islam for what it is.
So who has the ability to take on these issues and understands them and has the know how to get Congress moving on these in record time? Who can maneuver the halls of Washington and knows who is friend and foe there? and all the other questions one might imagine....
For me there is only one who is capable of handling this we face..and even then it will be a tremendous job to turn the trajectory we're on....and that's Newt.
Despite his missteps and some of the issues I disagree with him on....He loves this nation...he has served her well...and he wants the job, he has nothing at all to loose by giving it his all...no concern about future political gain...this will be the "it" and whatever legacy he leaves for his efforts....I vote Newt...even if we don't' match on all issues meaningful to me....I put aside my personal "like" of a candidate for what I believe is best for the country as a whole.
As long as we keep out heads, Cain will be the nominee.
The Mc Cain experience should innoculate us against Noot, Mitt, or Ricardo.
We deeply need a Washington outsider.

This gets to the root of why we must reject Noot & co.
Noot’s “solutions” are what got us into trouble. He is a born soft-headed globalist, that jumps at feel-good liberal ideas without a moment’s thought.

Not a big fan of “green Conservatism”.
When I read that in Newt’s latest book, I bitterly wept.
I think Newt’s riding a wave of great debate performances. (There’s nothing wrong with that, make no mistake about it.)
The reality is this: The Republican party wants a Conservative to lead it. That’s why Herman Cain, and now Newt are doing so well in the polls.
Don’t count out Michele Bachmann, either.
Cain, like Perry before him, has now suffered the misfortune of politically severe wounds. He’s not going to make it. I’d like to see a Washington outside too but it’s not likely to be Cain.
There isn’t another outsider available; Cain is it.
He’ll make it. Opinion is in his favor. Washington is hated.
He looks skilled at positive P.R.
Could come in handy, maybe.
He needs to get his foreign policy down so he can remember it, and ditch the 9% fed. sales tax. Talk about the camel’s nose under the tent...
China Gate?? Was this when Clinton got a very large campaign contribution from a Chinese national? Oh well, we won’t have that problem to fuss about any more, now that the Supreme Court has said anyone or “thing” can make large campaign contributions.
Gingrich was an advocate of conservative futurist thinking. I have no problem with that. It’s better than liberal futurist thinking. In one aspect of his conservative futurism, he was looking for ways to link democratic legislatures worldwide for joint initiatives. That is not “global governance” as understood by those looking for a “one world government.” It is more like an alliance based on political adherence to democratic principles. It’s a DATO instead of a NATO...democratic alliance treaty organization.
Global Warming simply isn’t an issue with me regarding Gingrich. He had concerns about global warming in 2008 and before. He made the Pelosi ad in 2008. East Anglia Research was proven fraudulent in late 2009. Since Gingrich was a data-based global warmist, the proof of fraud changed his perspective. That’s actually a good thing, and it is something that has happened to many in the scientific community as well since the exposure of the fraudulent data.
ANWR: From a Newt & Callista Website: “WE HAVE THE POWER highlights America’s need to adopt our World War II mentality of “Do it all, Do it now” by tapping into all of our abundant energy resources. We owe it to future generations to explore the vast amount of oil and gas in the Outer Continental Shelf, Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), as well as our other vital energy resources including Hydroelectric Power, Wind Power, Oil Shale, Natural Gas, Gas Hydrates, Hydrogen, BioFuels, Solar Power, Clean Coal and Nuclear Power.”
Educ Dept: instead of abolishing it, he thinks it’s best to shrink it. If that’s what his legislative experience says is the most viable way to get what we want, then that’s just a disagreement on how best to implement. He also believe in tying education loans to work, and I don’t disagree with him there.
Fair enough. I respect your perspective and understand your analysis.
Do you not realize truly what you are saying in this statement?
Nobody thinks it's to Cain's credit to have stumbled thru important questions he's been asked....the fact he had no formed opinion is what is concerning for many...and he should have.
He continues to evidence he is speaking form what he has been told to say, and thus the confusion over what to remember is what, rather than an "informed" opinion based on the 'basic' knowledge of events and people he should at least be familiar with.
We've all seen from Obama what "New Analysis" brings with it....and there are many who now realize that though there is much that can be reformed, and revised, and eliminated in our government operations...whoever leads this had better have a strong understanding of what's there already and how that works in order to do the job....Cain doesn't understand the workings of government sufficient enough to make an "analysis" without being majorly propped up to see even the basics, which he's stumbling with already, let alone the major operations, people, and overall climate of Washington and the International Community.
He is simply not ready.. much to our disappointment...it is not yet his time and he is evidencing this....further this will come out more and more as the debates become more focused on the serious issues and the expectations of the public to hear this addressed from the candidates, with solutions and the plans the candidates present. As has been said...(9-9-9) is not the cure-all answer for everything... Cain needs to respond with a measured and understood statements that are believable and not just winging it thru the process. He still has far to go and time is running out.
