We need a common sense guy in the oval office

At another time then the one this nation is in now some might agree...but not with the very serious and perilous problems at hand now...and with the ship sinking...we need an experienced captain...

I doubt many would care what an individuals personal life or his misteps in the past might have been if they were drowning in a storm of violent waves....and they saw someone experienced at getting people out of the water onto dry land with an extended hand to do just that.

I put aside my personal preferances...and instead focused on who really can turn things around, with no time to spare..... Newt's got the whole package to get us out of the water...and he may only be able to stop the ship from sinking....which is enough for me as it will take four years to nip this in the bud. I can live with Newt for four years despite any baggage or his personal life...which BTW all his wives have moved forward and support his run.

Yes, but not one with a course set over a cliff. Moreover, experience comes from many fields, but Newt has NO experience as an executive AND shows evidence of poor management skills with his campaign.

You're not doing so well.

I doubt many would care what an individuals personal life or his misteps in the past might have been if they were drowning in a storm of violent waves....

Oh yeah, that "conservative should be so desperate any RINO will do" followed by "He can win!!!"

What a load, I can't tell you how sick I am of such garbage. It's how they got California to settle for Arnold, and look what happened. Oh, but he was a "fiscal conservative" too, just before he sank the State in another $100 billion in debt while paying off his friends with crooked favors.

I put aside my personal preferances...and instead focused on who really can turn things around, with no time to spare...

Then Newt isn't it, all your fuzzy blandishments accounting for nothing. When the government "shut-down" confrontation with Clinton came, Newt folded like a cheap suit and therewith virtually handed Clinton a second term. That's all we need to know.

OK, so which Newt are you going to get?

He has been as all over the place as Romney.

For global warming. For carbon tax, against both.

For mandatory health insurance, against it.

I like to hear him debate. He knows his history and he is harp as a tack, but he needs to be a consultant to the president in some position where he can bring up earth shaking ideas but where someone above him with common sense picks the good ideas and discards the not so good.

As for experience, I repeat. You saw the debate in SC. On the subject of Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, China and Israel every single one of them had a different idea as to how to handle them and the only person with enough common sense to admit that it was not that easy was Cain.

Cain realizes that until the nominee gets the briefing that only comes at that stage that bragging about how you would fix the problem is nothing but BS.

For instance, some of the experts on that stage suggested a blockade to back up sanctions, most but not all of which are worthless without some sort of enforcement.

So what will we do when a Chinese or Russian ship decides to force its way through the blockade?

Torpedo it?

Our founders did not design our government around professional politicians. They foresaw people like Herman Cain serving for one or two terms and then going home.

Every single one of our problems today can be traced to a violation of the terms of the constitution.

For instance, the scandals surrounding the present administration as well as the last several, could not have occurred if our pols were one termers, we had no federal income tax and no lobbyists.

Nor would gunwalker have occurred had this government protect our borders from invaders as the Constitution requires that they do.

And if our government had respect for the Second Amendment and was not trying to use the Mexican problem to restrict our constitutional rights to own guns, which in the end will be determined to be the real issue.

Anyway, Newt did a good job in the 1990’s, but it is a lack of knowledge that gives him full credit. He had a lot of people working with him and a few guiding him. And that is when he is at his best.
