Mitt Romney Will Win Iowa Caucus, Predicts GOP Insider
The Daily Beast ^ | 11/11/2011 | John Batchelor

Mitt Romney doesn’t generate enthusiasm from the conservative base, according to one GOP insider, but he’ll still take the upcoming Iowa caucus. The big winner, though, is Fox News.

“It’s gonna be Romney, and the party is miserable,” observed a Republican agent just back from the presidential contest in Iowa. “One day Bachmann, the next day Perry, then another day Cain, now Newt. The flavor of the day will pass. Why do many Fox contributors become candidates? It gets you in the debates and polls. But it doesn’t stick. Iowa is about paying an organization to show up. They are used to it. It’s an entitlement to Iowa. First in the nation means mercenaries, buying up the talent, then bringing the people you paid for to the caucus.”

With about seven weeks to go to the January 3 caucus in Iowa, I enjoyed my conversation with a shrewdly cynical professional who can explain what’s the matter with the Iowa primary, why we see such helter-skelter in the polling that swings from challenger to challenger while the Old Reliable Romney never goes down or up, just hangs onto his unshakeable twenty-something plateau.

“You gotta have money to get the people out,” continued my informant. “It’s a muscle caucus, not a message place. They are used to it. You need money to hire the guys who are well connected to make sure the right people get to the caucus night. It’s not a vote; it’s a paid event. Romney, having waited for the other candidates to blow each other or themselves up, he can buy himself a victory gradually and steadily.

The Internationalists will stop at NOTHING to prevent an “outsider” from winning the nomination. They would honestly prefer Obama be re-elected than Herman Cain.

And I scouted around for 2008 results. Paul did no better in Story and Linn counties than he did elsewhere in Iowa.

The source for this article is likely peddling disinformation and psy-ops, likely from one of the lower-teer campaigns... or it does have an essence of Tokyo Rove about it as well... It’s Used Oats.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_caucuses

if the 10 Cain supporters at the East Succotash caucus select someone from their ranks to be the delegate to the county convention .... and the guy flips to Newt at the county level .... yes, y’all can get screwed. Takes a bit of savvy to be successful.

I visited Iowa a month ago and introduced an aging very conservative cousin to Herman Cain. He was extremely interested. He is a super businessman and liked the message.

His daughter was blase. She said....yes, but can he win. Those who perceive Mitt the winner will vote for him rather than risk losing their vote

Yup. Screw East Succatash. Their job is to send money and vote like good little republicans.

Well if the geniuses at the top screw up I don’t vote. If Obama wins blame them not me.

A lot of caucuses do have a straw vote for presidential preference, and then delegates and committees are chosen separately with little regard for presidential preference.

Other caucuses (usually with large numbers of attendees) do apportion delegates and committees by presidential preference groups.

Either way, the GOP remains under control of those who raise and spend the money. In my experience, these have been bankers and real estate/insurance guys. Evangelicals and Paulistinians sometimes take charge, but seem to lose interest and let control go back to the old RINOs.

Oh yeah! Same deal though, Blackhawk and Story about average (10%), with Johnson better for Paul (15%), but not better than a lot of other non-college counties.

I think there is a full court press from the LGBT lobby.

I just got an alumni magazine from NYU,
full of starry eyed LGBT stories.

Recently the News shows have nterviewed
George Takei about Kim Kardashian marriage.

The Daily Beast is a left wing web site.

They want Romney to win. He is the easiest for Obama to defeat.

Cain is the toughest and it’s why they are attacking him now. The lefist at the Daily Beast along with the GOP elite do not want Cain.

Contrary to some media reports, Herman Cain has not only remained the frontrunner in many states, he has actually increased his lead in the key states of Iowa, Florida, South Carolina, and Ohio.

In Iowa, Cain has gone from being behind behind Romney by 3 points in a CNN/Time Poll taken 10/20 - 10/25 to being ahead by 4 points in an Insider Advantage Poll taken 11/8.

In Florida, Cain has gone from being behind behind Romney by 12 points in a CNN/Time Poll taken 10/20 - 10/25 to being ahead by 6 points in Rasmussen Reports poll conducted 11/8 - 11/8.

In South Carolina, Cain has gone from being behind behind Romney by 2 points in a CNN/Time Poll taken 10/20 - 10/25 and behind 2 points in a Clemson poll taken 10/27 - 11/7 to being ahead by 7 points in an Insider Advantage Poll taken 11/8.

In Ohio, Cain has increased his lead from 5 points over Romney in a Quinnipiac poll taken 10/31 - 11/7 to a 14 point lead over Romney according to a PPP (D) poll taken 11/4- 11/6.

Ain’t no Morman, and a liberal Morman at that, winning SC. Either Gingrich or Cain will. Maybe Perry if he keeps up the good debate work like he did tonight. Forget the liberal Romney in SC. Be willing to bet he does not win Iowa either. Has he ever been in the state?
