Washington (CNN) - As Newt Gingrich's GOP presidential candidacy gains momentum, his campaign says it has raised $1 million since Sunday.
The campaign brought in $250,000 in the past 24 hours, setting its one-day fundraising record, spokesman R.C. Hammond said Friday.

I make no bones that I’m not on the Cain train. It’s more pragmatic for me. I’m in the not Romney Camp so what choices does that leave...
Here’s how I see it.
The nonviable/undesirable:
Huntsman
Paul
The undesirable:
Romney
Perhaps Santorum
Perhaps Bachmann
The nonviable:
Santorum
Bachmann
Perry (newly minted nonviable)
That leaves Newt and Cain. For me Cain probably belongs in the undesirable category but not for the same reasons as the others. I just don’t think there is any there there. It may not matter anyway. Based on the latest indicators - Cain may be quickly headed for the nonviable category.
So Newt is looking more and more like the ticket.
So I went to Newt’s website Thursday to donate $75. When I saw my credit card statement online Friday morning, it showed a donation of $2500. I emailed them but have not heard or seen an adjustment. No way to call the correct person. I’ll correct the charge Monday myself.
So is this the reason for the record one day amount, his website is hosed ??
Newt is the only candidate in either party that has proven that he can make a positive impact at the Federal level. The prosperity of the 90s is attributable to 2 people - Reagan and Gingrich.
I’m off to watch Newt debate Perry.
last i checked he was at 8% in NH .... the Union Leader endorsement might help him get started there and over the 20% hump. Doubt anyone can get close to MITT there in NH.
