Washington (CNN) - As Newt Gingrich's GOP presidential candidacy gains momentum, his campaign says it has raised $1 million since Sunday.

The campaign brought in $250,000 in the past 24 hours, setting its one-day fundraising record, spokesman R.C. Hammond said Friday.

Actually... I don’t have a lot of enthusiasm for any one of the GOP candidates... But it’s the hand we’ve been dealt. The challenge now is to figure out how to play it well... Will Newt be the best play? Don’t know, but he sure makes the game more interesting.

“But it’s the hand we’ve been dealt. The challenge now is to figure out how to play it well.”

That is an excellent way to put it. However I do not want a candidate to be forced on me by the establishment in the Republican party and that chosen candidate appears to be Mitt Romney.

To the Republican Party, I will make my own decisions on who I will support. I do not want you to choose a candidate for me. That includes you Karl Rove and your ilk.

Agreed... You’ll get no argument from me about Romney’s unsuitability. I’m squarely in the Not Romney camp.

Politics is the art of persuasion.....if one can persuade others to part with their money - willingly & eagerly with no expectation of special favors - then the sky is the limit.

Crony capitalism is not art - it is artifice.

Unlike Bachmann, Trump, Perry, etc.... the country has already aware of Newt. Newt, along with Palin have had the highest name recognition. He isn’t a “flavor of the month”.... he is rising because as people hear him speak, it is slowly becoming clear that he is the guy to lead a national movement to beat Obama decisively, an make the bold changes necessary for a better future.

Hmm so which Newt should I believe? The one from May 2011 who said the Individual Mandate in Obamacare was his idea or the one in Nov who said he thought the Individual Mandate was Unconstitutional?

Will the real Newt please stand up?

Every dollar to Newt is a dollar not going to Perry. The RedStaters who hate Cain are switching over, now that the all-hat-no-cattle Texas Governor’s campaign has collapsed.

Oh please. You have posted nothing but positives for Newt, nothing but negatives for Cain. Then when someone has a criticism of Newt, you complain.

Don’t pretend you don’t have a dog in this fight, LOL

Newt has been in this game how many years, if he cannot call in that kind of money for all the past cronyism he has passed out, one could say he would be a bigger fraud than he already is. Now Newt go whine about getting off the back of the plane.
