Police are investigating gunshots heard near the White House on Friday night, according to multiple reports, but the incident appears unrelated to President Obama, who was not in Washington at the time.
An AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from a car near the Roosevelt Bridge shortly after police started pursuing two vehicles fleeing from a section of Constitution Avenue near 16th street, where the shots were heard.
Witnesses saw the driver of the vehicle where the gun was found run across the bridge toward Virginia, according to the AP.
U.S. Park Police Sgt. David Schlosser said authorities were searching for evidence that shots had been fired, and that the White House did not appear to have been connected to the incident, NBC Washington reported.
Metropolitan Police said the Secret Service is taking the lead on the investigation. A Secret Service spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
Yes—that is the chieftess of police—and I had some up close and personal time with her while we stood and watched Code Pinkos spray painting three police cars right in front of us, and she made no move to stop them...........(this was several years ago)
I thought DC v Heller gave the residents of DC the right to gun ownership..........
“Who’s the babe in the general suit?”
#####
Just another utterly useless, pension and sick leave accumulator....
Was the gun carried by a Mexican Cartel thug looking for Eric Holder to resupply?
At least we know the wookie didn’t go on a rampage.
APEC. She’s staying in Waikiki as is The One and numerous other heads of state - China, Australia, Korea, etc., etc. They’re all heading over to the new Disney resort (how fitting) tomorrow to close down the freeway for half the day. I presume someone somewhere will use the closed freeway to hype our train to nowhere as a solution to this sort of thing.
” An AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from a car “
Who’s got the “Gun Recognition for Journalists” graphic??
Good luck. Oahu’s H1/2/3 are bad enough on a “normal” day.
That the crossing guard from his kids' school. She donated to his campaign so "Benito" O'Bama made her a general.
Why are they called glocks and not pistols? Aren’t they pistols?
LOL - That is easy for me to remember!
Gee... She be an eight-stah General... Hmmm...
No one leaves any kind of firearms behind especially an AK-47 assault rifle.
It is another attempt of the WH trying to grab private arms from citizens like in the gun walker scandal which failed.
It’s a joke. Journalists call every rifle an AK47 and every pistol a Glock.
He and the Aussie head of state are in Hawaii, then he leaves Monday for Australia to meet with.....
Well, not “every”.
Some times they get that reversed.
