4) arranged for Piantelli, Miley and a host of others to try to fool the world into thinking that cold fusion was real,

5) got NASA, SPAWAR, The Defense Threat Reduction Agency and The Defense Intelligence Agency to say nice things about the field,

6) got Bushnell to make a fool of himself,

7) and convinced his former partners to set up another company called Ampenergo to pretend that they had a contract for The Americas for a substantial sum

8) sold his profitable company to his ex-partners in order to spend that wealth on a multi-million dollar scam;

Nuclear power plants require the government to guarantee loans and always have. The free market doesn't favor them. The most economical power source for the near future is natural gas.

I wasn't aware that the ecat had been independently tested and inspected, or replicated. It seems that Kullander is jumping to conclusions.

Perhaps Kullander viewed his examination of the E-Cat sufficient "independent testing". You "do" recall that he was one of those who witnessed one the demos?

I've been thinking about Rossi's device in light of the findings by Miley, particularly Miley's seeing new elements and isotopes.

Rossi has been unwilling to stage very-long-duration demos, and some on FR have been taking that as indicating that there's some fraud in the system, and that Rossi wanted to end the demo as soon as possible before the hidden fuel was exhausted. But what if there was another reason for wanting the demo to end quickly?

What if Rossi really is achieving fusion, and the process uses low-energy neutrons to transmute nickel into copper, but in the process is ALSO producing radioactive isotopes of nickel and copper, and he needs to shut it down before they build to dangerous levels?

I sort of doubt it. The one common factor to all LANR variants I've read about is very low to no neutrons (which is one of the hot physicists key arguments against...at least in their view).

Ah, but the 'enlightened' European countries (ie. France) are getting a vast majority of their power from Nuclear. So, in this they are both more mature, and more proactive than we are in America.

What I fail to grasp, is the monumental stupidity we as Americans exhibit when it comes to Nuclear Reactors. We have had nuclear Naval vessels for over 50 yrs. These are proven, battle-tested, robust designs. Yet, every .... single .... reactor... we build on land is a prototype. Every year, we re-design, re-engineer and build an entirely new reactor - we re-invent the wheel every ... single ... time. After being commissioned, built and tested; they then sit dormant while we fight Enviromentalsists in the courts.

Then, like 'tards' we sit back and wonder why they remain so expensive. As an engineer, this is frustrating as all h*ll.
