Penn State alum raising funds for Sandusky

Sam Stellatella, a three-position player in the 1950s for Penn State, is trying to raise funds for Jerry Sandusky's legal defense.
Stellatella has donated money and has urged other former players to do the same.
"I told him he's going to need a million dollars to defend himself," the 73-year-old Stellatella told the Associated Press. "He called me back and said, `What am I going to do with this money?' I said, `Use it for your lawyer because you're going to need it.'"

After Spanier tried to get rid of Paterno the first time, Paterno probably became very leery of Spanier, and might have figured that politics and ideology had a lot to do with that episode. So perhaps when Paterno learned about Sandusky, he thought Spanier might quietly sympathize with the pervert for ideological reasons.
I ran across this. Know anything about it? (Hehe! You seem to be a sleuth. ;-)) Gricar seems to be involved.
I’m still going through the common staff at Oregon and State Penn wrt the Spaniers. I’d guess that an army of real investigators would have a field day going over the goings on in “Happy Valley” since the Spaniers rejoined the community.
Besides, I have a couple of overdue timing belt replacements to work on this weekend.
It is hard for OJ to keep looking for the real killer of his dead and decapitated wife since he is in prison right now. Let the old man out.
